Semantic Engine report verification

Verification

The runtime, memory, epistemic, workflow and reconciliation members support a bounded source-level account. No material correction is required. The supplied structural check reports none; all four correction-answer files are empty. I judged the reports afresh rather than treating their validation or inspection claims as verification.

Independent tracing and record dispositions

I confirmed the frozen checkout HEAD and clean status against the boundary, examined its tracked tree, and independently read all seven CLI drivers, database connection/schema/vector adapter, Python ORM, chunker and authored tests, CLI README/manifest/environment/schema configuration, root README/manifest, canvas processor/PCA/clustering/browser and entry HTML, Knowledge Gate page, archive client, and UI entry chain/manifests. These reads supply SRC-1 implementation or doctrine/design only. No target code, tests, examples, model calls or services were executed. Existing records supply the supporting passages; quotation occurrence and reference syntax are deterministic checks, not independent evidence of claim support.

The two model component records correctly distinguish service identifiers from immutable weights and caller behavior from inaccessible provider internals: RT-CMP-lmstudio and RT-CMP-openai. The inspected callers request embeddings, not weight updates or model-selected actions. Environment configuration and SQL ranking have distinct consumers and horizons, as stated in RT-BAP-operator-config and RT-BAP-vector-ranking. These findings do not establish deployed permissions, model immutability or learning benefit.

I traced source selection through download, filtering, thread construction, RSS conversion, separate root/chunk insertions, vector derivation, selection and full-root output. The admission, failure and recovery claims in RT-RTE-ingest-documents, RT-RTE-embed-chunks, RT-RTE-query-documents and RT-RTE-clear-embeddings are supported. In particular, conversion precedes the RSS missing-content check; hashes have no duplicate-rejection consumer; failed embedding batches advance; initial/prefetch failures need not receive that batch recovery; clearing removes vectors without removing source text. Query embeds only its argument, selects a bounded chunk window, reloads roots and prints them without generative answering. Non-null eligibility is not freshness or semantic approval. Wired implementation and uninspected operation remain separate.

The combined database object RT-OBJ-docs-chunks is a valid container. Its separately assessed parts—MEM-OBJ-docs-content, MEM-OBJ-chunks-content, MEM-OBJ-chunks-embedding and MEM-OBJ-docs-metadata—have the stated storage, lineage and consumers. MEM-OBJ-archives is distinct pre-admission material; MEM-OBJ-geojson is a distinct derived file. The memory annotations and write/read accounts preserve those distinctions. The JSON-valued CASE update does not use the adapter's ordinary vector conversion expression; the reports appropriately withhold a successful binary-normalization conclusion rather than claim an experimentally established failure (SRC-1, apps/semantic-engine-cli/scripts/embed-documents.mts, apps/semantic-engine-cli/db/types/vector.ts).

I checked both alternatives in RT-RTE-display-export against their actual producers and consumers. MEM-RTE-canvas-display preserves the fixed database location, string-parsing assumption, missing null exclusion, duplicate content-column ambiguity and producer/browser filename mismatch. MEM-RTE-atlas-export correctly identifies the unreachable database-URL assignment, old document-level embedding schema, colon-ID assumption and possible extra array dimension. Afforded route statuses do not promise a connected current-schema pipeline. Implemented PCA code is compatible with that weaker end-to-end status. No successful projection, export or external consumption is inferred.

The epistemic text, chunk, metadata and embedding declarations identify the same parts as memory, while adding appropriate warrant distinctions. I checked EPI-RTE-source-reshaping, including synthesized author/time fields, and EPI-RTE-split-text, including its concrete source deduction and distinction between ordered reconstruction and isolated-fragment meaning. Their indeterminate versus non-ampliative assessments are supported at the stated units; neither is promoted into accepted claim production.

EPI-RTE-chunk-tests checks authored fixtures, not factual truth or retrieval relevance. EPI-RTE-cosine-guards enforces equal lengths and nonzero magnitudes, not comprehensive numerical validity or text equivalence. Its separate checking and disposition functions are justified. The conditional arithmetic derivation in the comparison ledger does not license a semantic-equivalence claim. RT-RTE-compare-texts correctly remains an invocation-local display route without corpus admission.

EPI-RTE-cluster-items distinguishes exported grouping, private SSE exploration and the commented-out processor call. Implemented helper functions do not establish an active production route. EPI-RTE-atlas-topics correctly preserves the explicit topic-model request without inventing provider output, acceptance or later reliance. These checks support the scoped local negative in EPI-ABS-claim-acceptance: the inspected decisions concern input shape, eligibility, arithmetic or fixture behavior, not evidence-consuming factual acceptance. The negative excludes undocumented human review and opaque external processing.

Both public claim records are supported as doctrine: RT-CLM-pipeline-purpose and EPI-CLM-rag-quickstart. The latter's mismatch is expressly conditional on generation being intended by RAG; neither label becomes a factual-correctness promise. The workflow account follows a README-connected sequence with real persistent handoffs. Its annotations correctly assign cross-command continuation to the operator and terminal emission—not reviewer acceptance—as delivery.

Reconciliation and omission challenges

I checked every declared containment and all four amendments in reconciliation. Each epistemic object superseded by a memory object denotes the same retained field or positioned fragments. The amendments preserve the epistemic qualifications rather than select stronger values. Database and display/export containers remain valid alongside their parts. Source reshaping, segmentation, arithmetic guards and topic requests are genuine subfunctions, not substitute whole routes. No missing required part or unresolved opposed finding was identified.

The two apparent tensions have supported dispositions. A JSON CASE write qualifies successful storage, not the existence of write/selection code. An explicit Atlas topic request qualifies the runtime's compact export description, which does not assert that topic modeling is absent. It remains unknown whether remote topics would express new propositions. Likewise, implemented numerical functions and afforded disconnected routes assess different units. None requires a conflict paragraph or an analyst correction.

Omission questions were selected from the frozen tree and producer/consumer dependencies, not just existing anchors. I searched application/configuration text for embedding, persistence, mutation, fetching, acceptance and checking surfaces, then traced the alternate shipped consumers. The material challenges were whether Knowledge Gate actually gates corpus admission; whether the UI or dispatch surfaces add an answer agent or another retained-content consumer; whether tests, SSE, PCA diagnostics or Atlas topics close a factual-acceptance or evaluation-to-update loop; and whether vector persistence guarantees downstream compatibility. The inspected page, entry chains, manifests, helpers and export caller support the reports' narrower conclusions (SRC-1, apps/knowledge-gate/index.html, apps/semantic-engine-ui/src/App.tsx, package.json, apps/infinite-canvas-viewer/cluster.js, apps/infinite-canvas-viewer/pca.js, apps/semantic-engine-cli/scripts/push-to-nomic-atlas.py). Shipped callers were included rather than reclassified as external hosts.

Further optional omission expansion stopped because these consequential alternatives have supported dispositions and no identified material challenge remains unresolved. Dependency internals, external services, actual corpus assertions, preexisting vector provenance and excluded sample provenance remain outside the established conclusions; unsearched behavior is not evidenced absence. The records already withhold operational success, quality, causal benefit, immutable model identity and remote topic semantics. These are faithfully scoped uncertainties, not additional defects requiring publication limits or unsupported comparison values to be excused.
