Agent Workflow Memory report verification

Verification

The current reports support publication of a bounded implementation account with the two local limits below. The previous response-input blocker is repaired. I read the complete supplied invocation, reports, types, contracts, correction answers, structural check and previous verification. The structural check states none; no structural blocker requires routing. The frozen checkout HEAD matches the boundary revision and its working tree is clean. Independent source reads and searches supplied implementation and doctrine/design evidence under SRC-1, not observed operation or causal support. No target code, examples, tests or providers were executed, and no worker was launched.

The boundary faithfully includes both shipped benchmark drivers, producers, consumers, prompts and evaluation paths. BrowserGym execution and persistence remain external responsibilities. The tracked tree and producer/consumer searches did not reveal a material excluded shipped responsibility requiring a boundary change.

Records, evidence and qualifications

I assessed all 36 declarations, their source anchors and evidence strengths, every annotation, and every Part of: relation. This is a judgment of support and scope, not a repetition of deterministic citation or quotation occurrence checks.

  • Components: RT-CMP-chat-model, RT-CMP-openai-client and RT-CMP-openai-embeddings correctly distinguish configured inference/embedding computations from retained workflow text. SRC-1, webarena/agents/legacy/utils/chat_api.py, webarena/autoeval/clients.py, mind2web/utils/llm.py, both Mind2Web induction scripts, webarena/induce_prompt.py, the basic agent and retrieval CLI show inference calls rather than implemented parameter updates. Exact model weights are not pinned. The Hugging Face factory has the additional local availability limit below; neither its constructor selection nor a mutable service name establishes successful operation.
  • Acting and supply: RT-RTE-browser-action, RT-RTE-benchmark-action, RT-RTE-basic-action, RT-CLM-context-budget, RT-BAP-workflow-system and RT-BAP-workflow-exemplar hold at their stated boundaries. Direct reads of SRC-1, webarena/run.py, both agent implementations, the action-space/parser and token-fit sections of webarena/agents/legacy/dynamic_prompting.py, and mind2web/memory.py establish their distinct effects. Mind2Web predicts and scores against annotations; it does not execute its predictions to obtain later pages. Legacy workflow text enters the system message after main-prompt fitting; Mind2Web supplies it as an exemplar that can be omitted at the first budget overflow. Conversion/retry is not authorization or host isolation. The basic agent returns raw model content without workflow integration. These findings warrant delivery wiring, not compliance, dependence or benefit.
  • Admission: RT-RTE-mind-admission, RT-RTE-neural-admission and RT-RTE-rule-admission preserve the distinction between proposal generation, source eligibility, textual filtering and human approval. Complete reads of SRC-1, mind2web/offline_induction.py, mind2web/online_induction.py, mind2web/utils/data.py, webarena/induce_prompt.py and webarena/induce_rule.py confirm whole-file replacement without old-workflow prompt input, unsorted online task/trace pairing, model/reward eligibility alternatives, and exact human y unless automatic mode. The writers do not test generated recipes or retain item-linked approval reasons. Their log eval calls are outside legacy action conversion. The driver, default model/token-counter and evaluator-filename obstacles qualify operation without negating the implemented transformations.
  • Memory objects: MEM-OBJ-mind-workflows, MEM-OBJ-exemplar-content, MEM-OBJ-exemplar-specifier, MEM-OBJ-conversation, MEM-OBJ-arena-workflows, MEM-OBJ-arena-traces, MEM-OBJ-autoeval-signal and MEM-OBJ-autoeval-thoughts correctly separate content from selector metadata, raw records from projections, and reasons from eligibility signals. The source writers and readers above, plus SRC-1, webarena/autoeval/evaluator.py and webarena/autoeval/evaluate_trajectory.py, support their consumer distinctions. First-25-line exemplar and first-30-line website-file samples confirm format, not provenance. A complete read of webarena/workflow/shopping.txt confirms available local assertions without authenticating their truth or history. Both WebArena induction prompts confirm that minimum step count is requested, not enforced; the one-shot's second workflow is a one-action counterexample. Both Mind2Web instruction/demonstration pairs support their differently abstracted guidance.
  • Memory alternatives: MEM-RTE-workflow-selection, MEM-RTE-exemplar-ablation and MEM-RTE-episode-memory preserve optional preprocessing and scratchpad routes. SRC-1, mind2web/workflow/retrieve.py returns metadata to the ordinary semantic branch but directly constructs and passes FAISS in ablation. Both remain outside default pipeline linkage. SRC-1, webarena/agents/legacy/agent.py and the MainPrompt/Memory/History sections of webarena/agents/legacy/dynamic_prompting.py establish optional note parsing, in-process retention and conditional redisplay; webarena/run.py disables display. Their afforded later-use statuses do not claim observed activation. Display shrinking does not write a durable compacted checkpoint.
  • Epistemic objects and claims: EPI-OBJ-workflow-text, EPI-OBJ-trajectory-input, EPI-OBJ-evaluation-result and EPI-OBJ-annotation-metrics appropriately identify candidates, projected examples and conditional scoring results, not accepted generalized knowledge. EPI-CLM-workflow-induction and EPI-CLM-benchmark-benefit accurately attribute SRC-1, README.md; neither reported success nor shipped examples supply observed induction or causal benefit evidence.
  • Epistemic functions: EPI-RTE-trajectory-check, EPI-RTE-success-selection, EPI-RTE-trajectory-cleanup, EPI-RTE-workflow-filter, EPI-RTE-annotation-score and EPI-RTE-retrieval-selection hold against the complete evaluator, induction, filter, prediction and retrieval paths read above. The deterministic cleanup/filter examples follow the code without target execution. Trace-success selection does not check a subsequently generated recipe; deletion and ranking do not confer truth warrant. Scoring derives agreement under imported annotations, not live task completion. Indeterminate relations for unobserved model outputs correctly separate requested generalization from evidenced semantic change. The authority ledger keeps checking, disposition, retention and operational use distinct; its bounded conclusions do not promote installation to epistemic acceptance or opaque cognition to an evidenced theory-building loop.
  • Workflow: WF-RTE-pipeline-handoff, its account and annotations are supported by complete SRC-1 reads of webarena/pipeline.py, webarena/run.py, the legacy agent, evaluator and neural writer, and the sequential retry section of webarena/agents/legacy/utils/llm_utils.py. Parent waits do not check child success. Evaluation error dictionaries do not match induction's expected list. Accumulated results lack a website gate, and zero selected examples can still reach generation when an output path is supplied. Parser feedback returns to the same model; rate-limit exhaustion propagates separately from null-action parse recovery. File delivery and host action handoff remain distinct from verified task delivery.

Correction and reconciliation

The epistemic answer's claimed correction is supported independently. SRC-1, webarena/autoeval/evaluate_trajectory.py preserves send_msg_to_user(...) actions, webarena/autoeval/evaluator.py formats retained actions into vision action history, and webarena/autoeval/prompts.py inserts that history. The dedicated response argument is unused, but answer content can still reach vision through those actions. The changed opening paragraph, delegated-visibility field and source-coverage row of EPI-RTE-trajectory-check now express this distinction, backed by retained passages. Its ledger, comparison and bounded conclusion no longer depend on the rejected inference of an absent response-check route. Actual answer presence, successful assessment and evaluator reliability remain unobserved. The previous blocker is therefore dismissed, not carried as a publication caveat.

The reconciliation retains valid combined objects and routes alongside narrower memory records without changing referents or promoting statuses. Combined workflow and evaluation objects distinguish their relevant parts; raw traces are not identical to formatted induction inputs. Wired selector implementation and afforded optional later-consumer handoff are compatible scope assessments. All containment relations hold: episode scratchpad belongs to browser action; evaluator/check, source selection and cleanup belong to neural admission; filtering belongs to Mind2Web admission; annotation scoring belongs to benchmark prediction. The workflow scheduler spans routes rather than being a part of exactly one. No supersession, missing required replacement or unresolved current conflict is established. The reconciler's disposition of vision delivery matches the inspected counterpath. Initial-content control, lineage precision, default handoff and effect uncertainties remain bounded rather than disagreements.

Omission search and stopping decision

I used the complete frozen tracked tree and repository-wide searches for workflow reads/writes, persistence, cache use, parameter training and alternate workflow parsing. The selected questions were whether another shipped caller dispatches workflow names, whether another retained-reason or memory channel changes later admission/use, and whether answer content survives evaluator formatting. Producer/consumer tracing, not only the reports' anchor lists, determined their disposition.

SRC-1, mind2web/utils/env.py contains parse_act_str_workflow, but the repository has no caller and lacks its referenced data.workflow.code module; mind2web/run_mind2web.py raises NotImplementedError in action mode. This does not overturn the text-consumer account. SRC-1, webarena/agents/legacy/utils/llm_utils.py contains ChatCached and a model-download/save helper, but searches find no callers; ordinary acting uses the uncached factory. These affordances do not establish an additional exercised retention or parameter-learning route. Actual scratchpad and evaluator-reason channels are already represented. The answer-delivery question is settled by the action-history path and the correction above.

Additional reads of SRC-1, mind2web/results/calc_score.py and webarena/config_files/generate_test_data.py confirm metric reporting and environment-derived task configuration, not extra generated-workflow acceptance. Observation construction and alternative backend construction expose the two local limits below. Further omission expansion stops because each selected consequential challenge has a supported disposition, and no identified material contradiction remains undisposed. More corpus samples cannot establish the missing content history or causal effect. This is not an exhaustive helper, dependency or corpus-quality audit, nor evidence that unsearched external behavior is absent.

Limits

  • RT-RTE-benchmark-action and EPI-RTE-annotation-score do not fully describe observation selection. SRC-1, mind2web/utils/env.py seeds cleaned observations with the first positive annotated candidate and ranked negative candidates; the rank-based positive-presence gate in mind2web/memory.py still applies. The omission leaves annotated replay and conditional agreement supported, but readers must withhold comparisons treating these observations as independently retrieved, annotation-blind browser inputs. The operative construction is:

    pos_candidates = s["pos_candidates"] pos_ids = [c["backend_node_id"] for c in pos_candidates][:1]

    Find top_k - 1 negative candidates

    neg_candidates = s["neg_candidates"] neg_candidates = sorted(neg_candidates, key=lambda c: c["rank"])[: top_k - 1] --- mind2web/utils/env.py

  • RT-CMP-chat-model describes selection of the Hugging Face wrapper but omits its constructor-argument obstacle. SRC-1, webarena/agents/legacy/utils/chat_api.py requires eai_token without a default in HuggingFaceChatModel.__init__, while ChatModelArgs.make_chat_model supplies no such argument. Non-OpenAI construction through that factory therefore has a static missing-argument obstacle. The ordinary OpenAI account, parameter-mutability assessment and unobserved-operation statuses remain supported; readers must withhold working alternate-backend availability and recovery comparisons through this factory. The required argument appears in:
