Voyager report verification

Verification

The reports support a bounded implementation account. I independently traced the consequential routes in SRC-1 rather than accepting the analysts' checks as verification. HEAD equals the registered revision and the source checkout has no reported changes. The tracked tree agrees with boundary coverage. The shipped learning and inference drivers own progression and consume retained state; the enclosing-runtime, whole-system classification is supported. No target execution, provider call, external acquisition or performance experiment was performed.

Runtime and workflow

Direct reads of SRC-1, voyager/voyager.py, voyager/agents/action.py, voyager/agents/curriculum.py, voyager/agents/critic.py, voyager/agents/skill.py, voyager/env/bridge.py and voyager/env/mineflayer/index.js establish the ordering described by all five members. Curriculum selection precedes rollout; parsed code executes before task judgment; recording and chest updates precede the critic; learning admission follows success and precedes progress updates. The representative workflow is a connected shipped sequence, not a composition of unrelated APIs.

The six runtime component records distinguish chat/embedding services from their clients and retained outputs. Their configurable aliases and lack of client-side weight updates support the stated mutability limits, not fixed provider identities. The two runtime objects distinguish parsed declarations from shipped primitives. The six runtime routes and two authority paths retain the material alternate paths: manual decisions, hardcoded curriculum overrides, direct environment requests, direct manager admission, and imported-library inference. See runtime records.

The parser's shape invariant is local to its output transformation; accepted function bodies remain unrestricted. The all-programs execution channel is independent of prompt top-k selection. The inspected Node handler exposes eval in its lexical/process context without an equivalent prompt-policy enforcement layer. These support RT-BAP-skill-execution, RT-BAP-action-guidance and the runtime's scoped effect-boundary account. They do not establish deployed network reachability or absence of external containment.

I checked the critic's error-veto/manual-dispatch ordering, the learning exception handler's extent, failed-placement recovery, the missing restart-counter increment, the recorder's first-empty-event failure case, and inference's completed-count indexing. The stated completed-step bounds and non-guarantees are supported. Task success, durable publication and eventual caller return remain distinct in workflow delivery; deposit-task recording is event recording, not progress-history admission.

Memory and epistemic findings

Direct source reads additionally covered SRC-1, voyager/utils/record_utils.py, voyager/env/mineflayer/lib/observation/base.js, voyager/env/mineflayer/lib/observation/voxels.js, voyager/env/mineflayer/lib/observation/chests.js, voyager/env/mineflayer/lib/observation/inventory.js, voyager/env/mineflayer/lib/observation/status.js and voyager/control_primitives/useChest.js. All nine memory objects and six memory routes have supported referents and consumers. Active skill code, summaries and access indexes are distinct; QA answers and their question index have different functions; chest state, task histories, persisted events and within-bot block records have different withdrawal and lifetime rules. The two memory annotations accurately add retention and consumer details to runtime-owned records. See memory records and annotations.

The automatic admission, same-name replacement, exact versus semantic QA reuse, unsuitable-answer display filters, chest invalidation, completed-task cleanup and two-message replacement findings follow the inspected producer-to-consumer paths. Clearing cumulative observations does not clear the block-record set. Event replay has a local accounting qualification listed below; the checkpoint read-back and learning-limit consumer remain supported.

I checked the four epistemic objects, five declared routes, two public claims and every authority-ledger entry against those paths, SRC-1's README.md, and the action, critic, QA-answer and skill-description prompts. Task acceptance consumes selected evidence against task criteria, but does not verify action causality, generic code correctness or transfer. Server assistance occurs before final observations; description generation occurs after task judgment. QA and description retention therefore supply no additional truth acceptance. The indeterminate content-transformation assessments do not incorrectly infer conjecture from missing derivation evidence. Progress integration is expressly confined to accepted task status, not reusable-skill correctness. The parser/execution ledger unit is coarse, as recorded below.

The three claim records preserve the difference between declared lifelong learning, feedback-based self-verification and reported transfer/performance. The retained sample in SRC-1, skill_library/trial1/skill/code/mineWoodLog.js and its description establishes available content, not its generating history or successful exercise. Wired retention and later authority support the marked dispositional improvement pathway, while subsequent causal dependence and benefit remain unestablished. No theory-builder, reflection or autonomy conclusion is inferred merely from the presence of a critic or retained code.

Reconciliation and structural findings

I checked every declaration, annotation and source anchor for meaning and scope, including the retained load-bearing passages and each implementation/operation status. The wired versus uninspected separation is appropriate; no observed-run or causal status is supported by the frozen evidence. There are no declared absence records whose searches require adjudication. The supplied report-check says none; all four correction-answer files are empty, so there are no structural failures or correction claims to route.

The three explicit Part of: relations in the epistemic member identify QA context and progress maintenance within task selection, and description generation within admission. Their containment is supported; none transfers a container's status to its part. I checked the five duplicate supersessions in reconciliation: chest objects, description objects, QA routes, chest routes and progress routes share their respective referents and evidence. Supersession does not erase epistemic assessments. The combined QA object remains a valid container alongside the separately declared answer map and question index; neither part is missing. Current program versus retained library, external embedding producer versus numerical index output, and execution route versus behavioral channel are correctly kept distinct. The memory integration issues are all disposed in reconciliation. No material unresolved cross-report conflict was found.

Omission searches and stopping decision

I selected omission questions that could alter the central accounts: whether another shipped caller admits skills or supplies retained state; whether lower-level helpers change execution or evidence semantics; and whether unreported persistence undermines the memory inventory. The search basis was the frozen tracked tree, public imports/setup, source-wide producer/consumer calls, primitive and observation dependencies, and the bundled collection plugin—not only the listed report anchors.

SRC-1, setup.py, voyager/__init__.py, skill_library/README.md and the complete driver support the stated Python entry points and supplied-library consumer. Searches and direct reads of voyager/env/mineflayer/lib/skillLoader.js confirm bot wrappers/event emission rather than another learned-library loader. Direct reads of voyager/env/minecraft_launcher.py and voyager/env/process_monitor.py found login configuration and process logs, not an additional learned-content acceptance or model-context route. They do not change the memory reports' declared subject.

I also traced SRC-1, voyager/control_primitives/mineBlock.js, voyager/control_primitives/__init__.py, voyager/env/mineflayer/mineflayer-collectblock/src/CollectBlock.ts and voyager/env/mineflayer/mineflayer-collectblock/src/Inventory.ts. The bundled plugin has local harvest/safety/path checks, transient target state and configurable chest/filter behavior. These do not establish a universal executor gate or an independent task oracle; the reports already withhold exhaustive plugin-state and individual-operation conclusions. Dependency manifests likewise do not freeze all resolved behavior.

Further omission expansion stopped because the selected questions have supported dispositions, and no identified material challenge remains without a disposition. Additional skill bodies, binary indexes and plugin examples could enrich the partial inventories but are not reasonably needed to support the emitted driver, admission, context and authority conclusions. Library-wide provenance, index consistency, every primitive's correctness, and exhaustive internal-check comparisons remain outside what these records establish; unsearched behavior is not evidenced absence.

Limits

  • MEM-RTE-event-replay groups constructor resume and the public resume(cutoff) operation as accounting reconstruction. Repeated public calls on an already used recorder are not fresh or idempotent reconstruction: SRC-1, voyager/utils/record_utils.py, clears several derived summaries but does not reset iteration, init_position or biome_history. The loop increments the existing iteration before testing an iteration-count cutoff. Withhold equivalence between repeated public replay and fresh-constructor accounting, and any timestamp-cutoff interpretation. Persisted-event read-back and the learning-limit consumer remain supported; the reports make no general idempotence guarantee.

    for record in sorted_records: self.iteration += 1 if cutoff and self.iteration > cutoff: break --- voyager/utils/record_utils.py

  • The check/evidence-production entry combining RT-OBJ-program-code and RT-RTE-environment-step in the epistemic ledger is a coarse unit: parser shape checking and Node execution have different targets, timing and bypass conditions. The entry explicitly describes both domains and the direct-endpoint bypass, so it does not license a false universal check or safety conclusion. Withhold a single domain-specific evaluator or enforcement comparison for that combined entry; its component descriptions and the runtime's separate parser/execution findings remain supported.
