Halo report verification

Verification
The pinned runtime, memory, epistemic, workflow and reconciliation members support a bounded source-grounded account. I checked every declaration and annotation, its source support and evidence strength, all stated Part of: relations, and the reconciliation's overlap and integration dispositions. No material contradiction or unsupported system-wide negative remains. The supplied structural report has no findings; the four correction-answer inputs are empty. There are no supersessions or unresolved-conflict paragraphs to adjudicate.
The checkout's HEAD equals the reviewed boundary and its working tree is clean. The boundary correctly includes the shipped desktop, demo callers and improvement instructions while excluding execution of the receiving coding actor and arbitrary harness deployment. I inspected executable source and source-native doctrine in SRC-1; I executed no target code, tests, examples or providers. Implementation, prescription, reported benchmark results, actual activation and causal benefit remain distinct.
Runtime and authority checks
I traced CLI configuration and public API convergence through SRC-1, halo_cli/main.py, engine/main.py, engine/engine_config.py and engine/tools/subagent_tool_factory.py. RT-RTE-trace-diagnosis and RT-RTE-subagent-call correctly identify model-owned investigation, code-owned dispatch, fresh child contexts, shared access and per-depth concurrency. Root leaf tools remain registered. Returned child answers and failures share the result channel; interleaved host events do not give the parent the child's full context. RT-CLM-delegation-policy and RT-BAP-engine-guidance therefore describe interpreted policy, not enforced investigation order.
The four model records—RT-CMP-root-agent, RT-CMP-subagent, RT-CMP-synthesis-model and RT-CMP-compaction-model—match the separate inference bindings. SRC-1, engine/model_config.py allows unconstrained model names; the inspected calls neither update weights nor require immutable provider versions. Their provider-internal qualifications are warranted.
SRC-1, engine/agents/openai_agent_runner.py reconstructs retry input, trims inconsistent tails, can restart the SDK turn budget, and emits terminal checkpoints only under the root/flag condition. This supports the runtime's best-effort finalization and non-global budget qualifications. RT-RTE-checkpoint-emission is not continuous context control. SRC-1, engine/tools/synthesis_tool.py and engine/traces/trace_store.py independently confirm RT-RTE-trace-synthesis: direct inference consumes reduced metadata; an oversized view renders zero spans without forwarding its explanation. Neither route establishes faithful summaries or benefit.
I checked RT-RTE-sandbox-python against SRC-1, engine/sandbox/sandbox.py and tool registration, and RT-RTE-repository-inspection against SRC-1, engine/code/code_repo.py, engine/code/_paths.py and engine/git/git_repo.py. Enumerated Deno permissions and confined read APIs support the stated route controls, not whole-host or deployed-security guarantees. Optional repository registration supplies the counterexample retained by RT-CLM-trace-only; the desktop bridge still grants no repository access.
SRC-1, app/scripts/halo-local-runner.py and app/src/server/halo/runQueue.ts confirm RT-RTE-desktop-analysis: nonempty last-assistant fallback can produce completion without root finalization. SRC-1, app/src/server/halo/engine.ts confirms RT-RTE-engine-install: clone/pull, dependency synchronization and importability admit machinery, not diagnostic correctness or trace-responsive improvement.
Retention, retrieval and epistemic checks
SRC-1, app/src/server/telemetry/storage.ts and app/src/server/halo/exporter.ts support MEM-RTE-telemetry-admission and MEM-OBJ-traces-jsonl: transactional common ingestion and filtered normalized export are positive mechanisms, not authenticated execution provenance. The export mapper confirms the alias-overwrite qualification in EPI-OBJ-span-record. Adapter-specific fidelity remains explicitly unassessed rather than assumed.
SRC-1, engine/traces/trace_index_builder.py and engine/traces/models/trace_index_models.py support MEM-OBJ-trace-index and EPI-RTE-index-reuse. Fingerprint reuse is stat/schema selection; separate file replacements are not a two-file transaction. SRC-1, engine/traces/trace_store.py confirms MEM-RTE-trace-read, EPI-RTE-trace-projection, EPI-RTE-count-traces and EPI-OBJ-trace-count: bounded projections and raw matching windows differ, while the count derives cardinality under actual index/filter premises. It is not a task-success oracle.
I followed original-item storage, trimming, compaction input selection, atomic unit admission and rendered replay in SRC-1, engine/agents/agent_context.py, engine/agents/agent_context_items.py, engine/agents/compactor.py and engine/tools/agent_context_tools.py. MEM-OBJ-agent-context, MEM-RTE-context-reload and EPI-OBJ-compaction-summary preserve the crucial distinction: local originals survive successful compaction, but emitted messages do not export their backing index. Empty successful summaries are admitted; assistant content accompanying tool calls is omitted from summarizer input. Preservation guidance is not a semantic check. EPI-OBJ-synthesis-summary is a different output with different input and consumer.
SRC-1, engine/tools/final_answer_tool.py confirms EPI-OBJ-diagnostic-answer and EPI-RTE-answer-finalization: acknowledgement and termination impose no truth criterion. The epistemic ledger's indeterminate diagnosis/synthesis/compaction relations remain appropriate because no concrete candidate was inspected. Operational disposition is not mislabeled as evidence-consuming epistemic acceptance.
SRC-1, app/src/server/halo/storage.ts, app/src/server/halo/runQueue.ts, app/src/server/halo/report.ts and app/src/mainview/halo/haloAgentConsolePresenter.ts independently support MEM-OBJ-halo-run-turns, MEM-OBJ-halo-run-events, MEM-OBJ-report, MEM-BAP-followup-history and MEM-RTE-retention-cleanup. History selects prior turns by index/content, not assistant status or a token budget. Reports use a different status predicate. Events are separately displayed, not replayed by that history builder. Retry retains old content until replacement; telemetry clear leaves run artifacts; run deletion attempts physical cleanup without guaranteeing it. These distinctions prevent retention, cancellation or freshness from becoming universal validity gates.
Workflow, theory and reconciliation checks
I traced report eligibility, freshness, rendering, queue failure containment and explicit preparation in SRC-1, app/src/server/halo/report.ts, app/src/server/halo/runQueue.ts and app/src/server/router.ts. WF-RTE-report-materialization is a valid preparation part of desktop analysis; it is neither the artifact nor the external handoff. SRC-1, app/src/mainview/halo/OpenInToolBar.tsx and app/src/desktop/commands.ts confirm RT-RTE-report-handoff and RT-BAP-report-prompt: report-path initiation is distinct from reading, editing and deployment. User confirmation is prescribed by the shipped link contract, not observed receiving-tool operation.
SRC-1, skills/claude/SKILL.md supports the separately claimed hypothesis, verification, revision and iteration conditions in the handoff record. It does not show a performed episode, retained criticism shaping later work, improved Halo capacity or autonomous closure. SRC-1, demo/appworld/src/appworld/evaluator.py supports MEM-OBJ-evaluation-report, EPI-OBJ-test-tracker and EPI-RTE-task-evaluation. Task-specific outcome checks and saved results are real mechanisms, but do not validate a Halo explanation or automatically admit a patch. SRC-1, README.md supports the attributed wording of EPI-CLM-halo-loop and EPI-CLM-benchmark-improvement, not independently observed benchmark causality.
The reconciliation preserves these distinctions. All explicit containment relations are substantively valid: access, count, projection, finalization and cache eligibility belong to diagnosis; turns, events, follow-up authority and report preparation belong to desktop analysis; the retained report supplies handoff. Cross-route context, raw-input and cleanup records legitimately span several routes. Overlapping memory/epistemic objects are storage containers or distinct consumption parts, not contradictory replacements. No combined record requires supersession, and no cross-report disagreement was hidden by choosing a stronger status. Workflow annotations do not add unsupported verification or delivery guarantees.
Consequential omission searches and stopping decision
I selected omission questions from the frozen top-level tree and producer/consumer dependencies, rather than treating listed anchors as an allowlist. Searches across engine, CLI, desktop bridge and tests challenged an alternate checkpoint consumer or ongoing compaction path. Source branches establish terminal preparation and caller re-supply capability; test definitions are not deployed consumption or passing runs. The positive checkpoint account remains supported without a desktop-resume claim.
I also inspected SRC-1, demo/appworld/experiments/code/openai_agents/run.py, demo/appworld/experiments/code/hal/main.py and demo/appworld/Taskfile.yml to challenge automatic evaluation-to-Halo revision and external-loop closure. The shipped drivers run tasks and save outputs; the analysis command supplies traces and a question. They do not invalidate the records' deliberately bounded evaluation and improvement conclusions. This inspection is not a complete audit of AppWorld task modules or historical artifacts.
One local inventory omission remains: SRC-1, demo/openai-agents-sdk-demo/verify_traces.py supplies a standalone trace-conformance checker invoked by the AppWorld verify:traces task. Its assertions check envelope fields, timestamp shape and exporter metadata, not diagnosis truth. For example:
assert attrs["inference.export.schema_version"] == 1, attrs.get("inference.export.schema_version") assert attrs["inference.project_id"], attrs.get("inference.project_id") ---
demo/openai-agents-sdk-demo/verify_traces.py
This does not contradict unknown source warrant or the absence of a correctness gate on the inspected answer-admission route. It limits completeness of evaluator-route comparison, as stated below. Further omission expansion stopped because the selected central challenges have supported dispositions and no identified material challenge remains unsettled. Provider internals, adapter fidelity, task-specific oracle completeness and actual execution remain explicitly outside established conclusions; inspecting additional files solely to enlarge the inventory would not justify stronger retained claims.

Limits
- The evaluator inventory omits the standalone demo trace-conformance checker in SRC-1,
demo/openai-agents-sdk-demo/verify_traces.py, invoked separately bydemo/appworld/Taskfile.yml. Its exporter/schema assertions add a programmatic input check beyond EPI-RTE-task-evaluation, but do not authenticate the events in EPI-OBJ-span-record or validate the answers in EPI-RTE-answer-finalization. The published account can retain its diagnosis, retention and partial-loop findings; readers should withhold exhaustive comparisons of shipped evaluators or all input-validation routes. No observed checker execution or automatic answer-admission gate is established.
