MemoryOS report verification

Verification

The supplied reports support publication as a bounded implementation account. Both previous ChromaDB blockers are repaired, including their dependent conclusions. One additional local capacity-path limitation is retained below; it does not invalidate the corrected storage and consumption findings.

Evidence and independent checks

I read the complete invocation, member types, reports, correction answers, structural report, previous verification and governing contracts. The structural report says none, so there is no structural failure to route. The runtime and memory answers are arguments checked against source, not evidence that the repairs succeeded. Epistemic and workflow answers are empty.

SRC-1 HEAD matches the reviewed revision, the checkout is clean, and its tracked tree matches the shipped responsibilities in boundary. Source inspection covered the Python orchestrator, retriever, updater, storage modules, prompts and utilities; MCP callbacks; Playground callbacks and personality parser; ChromaDB orchestration, provider, mid-/short-/long-term stores, retriever, migration body and transformation utilities; evaluation driver, migration, retrieval, long-term storage, mid-term search, model/profile utilities and scorer. Source-text comparison checked the Python helpers against Playground and bundled MCP copies rather than assuming equivalence. Searches also covered the tracked tree, Python demo, ChromaDB demonstration, browser route calls, Dockerfile, README claims and repository-wide alternative-updater/tool-dispatch call sites. All findings concern SRC-1 implementation or attributed design; no target code, test, example or provider was executed.

The supplied record passages were checked for semantic support, including ordering, actual consumer inputs, evidence strength and variant scope. Existing passages supply the load-bearing evidence cited below. Deterministic form, citation resolution and quotation occurrence remain the structural checker’s responsibility, not a substitute for this judgment.

Record and relation dispositions

  • RT-CMP-openai-client, RT-CMP-sentence-transformer and RT-CMP-bgem3-flag-model correctly distinguish configurable inference models from retained-content updates. SRC-1 memoryos-pypi/utils.py, memoryos-chromadb/utils.py and eval/utils.py support the constructor/encoding findings and evaluation’s separate global client. Unpinned names and configurable endpoints do not identify immutable resolved weights. RT-OBJ-generation-prompts accurately records instructions, not enforced English, word-count or temporal-correctness guarantees.
  • RT-RTE-dialogue-response, RT-RTE-memory-admission and RT-RTE-profile-analysis match SRC-1 memoryos-pypi/memoryos.py, memoryos-pypi/retriever.py, memoryos-pypi/updater.py and memoryos-pypi/utils.py. Retrieval failures substitute empty lists; caught provider failures return text; admission precedes return; migration pops and saves before downstream insertion. Profile-length and line filters control retention, not truth. Force temporarily lowers the threshold but still selects one heap-top session. The implementation wired and operation uninspected findings are supported. The guarantee table does not turn these protocols into transactional or no-loss guarantees.
  • RT-RTE-mcp-access and RT-RTE-playground-control match SRC-1 memoryos-mcp/server_new.py and memoryos-playground/memdemo/app.py. MCP returns data without closing the host’s answer/admission loop; its list slicing does not bound profile/history. Playground imports externally supplied dialogue, forces maintenance and deletes/reconstructs stores with changed configuration. Session lookup is not user-identity authentication. Compared helper differences do not change the MCP retriever’s explicit arguments. MEM-RTE-profile-display correctly distinguishes retained profile from its lossy display. MEM-RTE-direct-update remains an afforded capability: the call search found definitions, not a shipped caller, and its bound assistant-write destination differs from the main analysis route.
  • MEM-OBJ-short-term, MEM-OBJ-mid-term and MEM-OBJ-memory-access match SRC-1 memoryos-pypi/short_term.py, memoryos-pypi/mid_term.py and memoryos-pypi/updater.py. They separate original dialogue, summaries, embeddings and control metadata. JSON merge leaves the established summary gate unchanged; query keywords are empty and query recency multiplication is inactive, unlike heat computation. MEM-OBJ-user-profiles, MEM-OBJ-user-knowledge and MEM-OBJ-assistant-knowledge preserve replacement versus append, mixed provenance and missing page-ID lineage. SRC-1 memoryos-pypi/long_term.py and response assembly support the separate substrates and consumers. RT-BAP-user-context and RT-BAP-assistant-context accurately distinguish user-message background from system-message conditioning without claiming compliance or factual warrant.
  • RT-RTE-chroma-dialogue and MEM-OBJ-chroma-storage now describe the actual backup producer-to-consumer break. SRC-1 memoryos-chromadb/mid_term.py aliases the provider’s session dictionary, calls provider insertion, then replaces the backup-bearing slot with session_obj. SRC-1 memoryos-chromadb/storage_provider.py supplies the dictionary and backup getters; memoryos-chromadb/memoryos.py consumes those backups for extraction and enrichment. New-session pages therefore lack those two consumer paths even before save/reload. Vector dialogue remains separately queryable. The merge branch can leave backups for newly merged pages but cannot recover the initial backup. The revised forcing case, object, annotations, write/read-back and integration passages consistently preserve this distinction. Parsed-or-wrapped profile admission, keyword-assisted retrieval, default long-term capacity and separate metadata-save horizon are also supported. Collection duplicate-ID behavior remains a distinct dependency uncertainty, not an explanation for the deterministic overwrite.
  • RT-RTE-locomo-evaluation, MEM-OBJ-evaluation-memory and MEM-OBJ-loco-results match SRC-1 eval/main_loco_parse.py, eval/dynamic_update.py, eval/retrieval_and_answer.py, eval/mid_term_memory.py, eval/long_term_memory.py and eval/evalution_loco.py. Capacity-one import, user-only summary input, all-assistant-knowledge consumption and non-admission of benchmark answers distinguish this route from the product. Access mutation in evaluation search does not itself save or rebuild its heap. Saved answer/reference records feed offline token-set F1, not memory approval or method revision. RT-CLM-dialogue-benefit preserves SRC-1 README.md attribution without reproducing numerical gains or claiming causation.
  • The six candidate-content objects and component references in the epistemic inventory have supported referents. Every ledger row was compared with the relevant transformation, guard or consumer. Acquisition does not certify source warrant; indeterminate model transformations do not become entailed derivations merely because prompts request factual extraction. The error-sentinel profile case follows the actual thirty-character guard. EPI-RTE-output-cleaning has a valid non-ampliative deletion witness in SRC-1 memoryos-pypi/utils.py. EPI-RTE-personality-display and EPI-OBJ-personality-traits have a valid negation counterexample in SRC-1 memoryos-playground/memdemo/app.py: substring fallback can emit High from text denying High. The F1 arithmetic likewise follows the scorer, not a run. These findings support the scoped separation between operational admission and evidence-consuming truth acceptance, not an exhaustive system-wide negative.
  • The workflow account and its three annotations faithfully follow JSON retrieval fan-out/join, prompt construction, completion, synchronous admission and return. They do not invent agent delegation, answer validation, retry or whole-turn rollback. A raised analysis future and a caught provider error returned as text remain different paths. Library return, not verified satisfaction or durable commit, is the terminal boundary.

All declared Part of: relations have valid containment: retained inputs/products belong to the named admission, analysis and variant routes; display and cleaning are contained operations. Cross-route selector state and cross-stage dialogue need not be forced into one parent. All three supersessions in reconciliation connect identical retained profile/user-fact/assistant-fact referents, not merely similar labels. The larger dialogue, mid-term and display containers remain valid alongside narrower parts. There are no declared evidenced-absence records. No unresolved-conflict paragraph or declined correction remains. Reconciliation correctly connects the repaired ChromaDB findings and does not silently settle a remaining disagreement. Its account of the epistemic and workflow dependencies is supported: neither requires intact new-session backups.

Consequential omission search and stopping decision

The frozen tree and producer/consumer dependencies selected three material questions: whether shipped callers bypass the ordinary response/admission sequence; whether evaluation results grant runtime acceptance or trigger method revision; and whether ChromaDB’s retained pages actually reach extraction, enrichment and withdrawal consumers. MCP/Playground callbacks, the Python demo and browser route searches dispose of the first question without excluding shipped callers. The evaluation driver/scorer and ChromaDB demonstration dispose of the second: the demonstration’s keyword tests add offline checking, not a production acceptance or self-revision consumer (SRC-1 memoryos-chromadb/comprehensive_test.py). No complete evaluator inventory is inferred.

Tracing SRC-1 memoryos-chromadb/mid_term.py, memoryos-chromadb/storage_provider.py and memoryos-chromadb/memoryos.py independently confirms both previous repairs. This same aliasing exposes a further local capacity-path fault: provider deletion removes the shared session entry, after which LFU tries to pop it again:

def delete_mid_term_session(self, session_id: str): if session_id in self.metadata.get("mid_term_sessions", {}): del self.metadata["mid_term_sessions"][session_id] --- memoryos-chromadb/storage_provider.py

Remove from storage

    self.storage.delete_mid_term_session(lfu_sid)

    # Remove from local data structures
    session_to_delete = self.sessions.pop(lfu_sid)

--- memoryos-chromadb/mid_term.py

On that shared-dictionary path the second removal raises before local frequency cleanup and heap rebuilding. This is an implementation deduction, not an observed incident. It is a local omitted failure case, not a contradiction of the reports’ best-effort persistence, nontransactional effects or corrected positive retrieval findings. Its incomplete capacity/recovery comparison is retained as a limit rather than demanding an exhaustive fault inventory.

Further optional expansion stopped because the selected consequential questions have supported dispositions and this local qualification; no identified material challenge remains undisposed. Remaining dataset validity, dependency internals, deployment behavior and uninspected documentation cannot support complete coverage, observed benefit or system-complete negatives. Additional inventory alone is unlikely to change the supported bounded conclusions. Existing faithfully scoped execution and dependency uncertainty is preserved, not converted into either evidence of absence or a new defect.

Limits

  • RT-RTE-chroma-dialogue and MEM-OBJ-chroma-storage do not inventory the additional LFU double-removal failure traced above in SRC-1 memoryos-chromadb/mid_term.py and memoryos-chromadb/storage_provider.py. Provider deletion mutates the aliased sessions dictionary, so the subsequent local pop raises before cleanup/rebuild. Withhold conclusions that ChromaDB capacity eviction completes cleanly or supports uninterrupted admission after capacity is exceeded; the capacity/recovery comparison is incomplete. This does not invalidate separate vector retrieval, the deterministic new-session backup loss, merge-created backup capability or the stated nontransactional persistence account. No successful eviction or reliability guarantee is established by the existing wired route status.
