Trajectory-informed memory generation epistemic report
Type: agentic-system-analyses/types/agentic-system-epistemic-report.md
Source-and-claim boundary
The question is whether trajectory-derived advice gains truth warrant before it shapes later behavior. Scope and exclusions: see boundary; source identity and evidence layers: see its Source register. This is a complete captured paper and a partial executable loop, not an inspected runtime. SRC-1 supplies doctrine/design and reported operation only. Model inference, semantic consolidation, retrieval and prompt delivery are described; no route below is classified as implemented or independently observed.
The consequential claims are EPI-CLM-causal-attribution, EPI-CLM-provenance-validation, EPI-CLM-feedback-cycle and RT-CLM-reported-results. Their scope differs: explanations of individual decisions, auditability, repeated improvement and aggregate benchmark outcomes cannot license each other automatically.
| Entry point or operation | Source path/local anchor | Coverage and record | Missing evidence and conclusion prevented |
|---|---|---|---|
| Completed trajectory; optional reports; unlabeled fallback | SRC-1 §§3.1.1–3.1.2 | Direct capture reads and supplied RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction; EPI-RTE-report-interpretation, EPI-RTE-self-outcome | No raw trajectories, calibrated confidence results or executable prompts; cannot establish classification or explanation accuracy. |
| Attribution; category tips; generic/domain guidance | SRC-1 §§3.1.2–3.1.3 | Direct capture reads; EPI-RTE-attribution-generation | No causal interventions or per-tip acceptance records; cannot establish causal truth or transfer warrant. |
| Task/subtask segmentation and independent extraction | SRC-1 §3.1.4 | Capture search passages and supplied RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction | No actual segmentation output/trace; cannot establish preservation of relevant causal context. |
| Description abstraction, clustering, synthesis, storage | SRC-1 §§3.2.1–3.2.4 | Capture search passages, direct consolidation/storage read and supplied RT-RTE-tip-consolidation | No executable transformations, stored corpus or reload history; cannot verify semantic preservation or lineage after merging. |
| Conflict reliability judgment and precedence | SRC-1 §3.2.3 | Direct read; EPI-RTE-conflict-check, EPI-RTE-conflict-disposition | No tested successor guidance, explicit veto or reversible history; cannot establish epistemic acceptance or reliable withdrawal. |
| Cosine retrieval and LLM query/filters | SRC-1 §§3.3.1–3.3.2; §4.1.4; §4.2.2 | Capture search passages and supplied RT-RTE-cosine-retrieval, RT-RTE-llm-selection | No query traces or index implementation; cannot verify relevance, count bounds or actual selections. |
| Guidelines consumption and task completion | SRC-1 §3.3.3; §4.1.2 | Capture search passages and supplied RT-RTE-agent-execution, RT-BAP-guidelines-channel | No action trace with delivered tips; delivery does not establish compliance or component effect. |
| AppWorld outcome checks and configuration comparisons | SRC-1 §§4.1.1, 4.1.5, 4.2–4.4 | Capture search passages and supplied results; EPI-RTE-benchmark-check | No evaluator code, raw repeated runs or uncertainty estimates; cannot independently verify outcomes or causal identification. |
| CLI dispatch, hooks, tools, deletion, rollback, expiry | SRC-1 complete captured-document boundary | No executable package supplied; supplied boundary explicitly excludes implementation | Uninspected implementation, not evidenced absence. Prevents system-complete negatives about implemented gates or recovery paths. |
| Distributed-parametric updates and provider state | SRC-1 §§3.2.4, 4.1.2 | Supplied RT-CMP-gpt4, RT-CMP-text-embedding | Exact versions/endpoints and parameter mutability uninspected; cannot attribute parameter learning. |
The inspected material is the frozen HTML, including its own illustrative examples and results, not external linked works. Image-only figure details, implementation repositories, CUGA deployment and future multi-agent extensions remain excluded as established in the boundary. These gaps bound the conclusions rather than imply missing functionality in a deployed system.

Authority-route ledger
Each cell saying see delegates the field to the cited declaring record. Repeated citations of a container distinguish its consequential functions without superseding its valid end-to-end identity. All positive routes are doctrine only: reported aggregate outcomes do not supply an inspectable route execution. The following relations assess described edges, not undocumented model internals.

Bounded conclusion
The declared system imports agent trajectories and optional external outcome evidence; source warrant is unknown because raw input provenance and evaluator implementation are not inspectable. Exact success/failure labels have a narrower evidence role than semantic interpretations of evaluation reports. The documented conversion from a 400 response to a missing-payment explanation adds information not entailed by the response alone. The unlabeled route can classify success from self-reflective language without independent verification. See EPI-RTE-report-interpretation and EPI-RTE-self-outcome, SRC-1 §3.1.1.
The attribution and generation route can formulate truth-apt causal and transfer conjectures, alongside non-truth-apt instructions. The generic prerequisites example extends beyond its originating checkout failure; this is not mere compression. No warranted entailed causal derivation, per-tip epistemic acceptance or post-acceptance lifecycle integration is established by the document. That is a bounded evidentiary limit, not a claim that every generated tip is false or every inference is ampliative. See EPI-RTE-attribution-generation, SRC-1 §§3.1.2–3.1.3.
Conflict handling is a substantive positive route: a model judges contradictory advice using outcome/category/priority metadata and prefers one successor. Its criterion is outcome-based reliability precedence for later task guidance within a cluster. This licenses operational retention and supersession, not a demonstrated acceptance of the successor's causal explanation or general applicability. Checking and disposition remain separate. Deduplication, synthesis and description abstraction request semantic changes whose preservation is not verified. See EPI-RTE-conflict-check, EPI-RTE-conflict-disposition and RT-RTE-tip-consolidation, SRC-1 §3.2.
The retained result is text advice plus metadata and numerical retrieval representations. Retrieval selectors grant ranking or eligibility force; delivery grants advisory behavioral force to the ReAct agent through initial-prompt guidelines for the current task, with possible reuse across tasks. Neither selector checks truth. Some tips instruct the consumer to verify prerequisites, but prescribing a check is not evidence it ran or that the memory itself was validated. No implemented rollback, expiry or evidence-responsive withdrawal is assessable from the capture. See RT-RTE-cosine-retrieval, RT-RTE-llm-selection, RT-BAP-guidelines-channel, SRC-1 §§3.2.4–3.3.
AppWorld's described check accepts a task outcome under all-tests-pass and a scenario under all-variants-pass, for benchmark scoring. Its consumer is the evaluation pipeline; optional labels may enter extraction. Its license concerns specified application end states and API tests, not attribution correctness, tip transfer, replay safety or the effect of one component. Reported comparisons are meaningful attributed outcome evidence but not registered causal experiments. Independent granularity/retrieval contrasts do not isolate the attribution mechanism, and the retrieval comparison includes filters, ranking and configuration differences. See EPI-RTE-benchmark-check, RT-CLM-reported-results, SRC-1 §4.
Learning benefit remains configuration- and benchmark-bounded reported evidence. Reflection and autonomous proposal are described independently of reliability. For the proposed self-improvement pathway, the objective is future task completion, and the horizon is later AppWorld tasks: evidence-fed determination, retained guidance and advisory delivery are declared, but the fourth causal link—subsequent operation causally depending on that particular changed guidance—is not established by aggregate results. Theory-builder conditions and addressability remain as separately bounded in RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction and RT-RTE-tip-consolidation; neither conflict precedence nor outcome scores supply a retained content-directed criticism trace. Opaque model and embedding parameters provide no basis for a parametric learning conclusion. The report supplies no single system-wide epistemic verdict.
Shared records
Operative objects
EPI-OBJ-trajectory
Label: Raw trajectory
Source-native identity: completed agent execution trajectory, the input rather than the whole extraction route RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction; no supplied object counterpart. Natural-language thoughts, prompts and reflections coexist with symbolic step/action/result structure; storage substrate and actual input artifacts are uninspected. Truth-apt parts concern what happened and whether operations succeeded; agent narration is not automatically an environment observation. Claimed role: evidence for extraction and attribution. SRC-1 §3.1.1, doctrine/design.
The component receives raw agent trajectories containing sequential steps with agent invocations, prompts or contexts, agent responses including thoughts and reflections, actions taken and their results, and optionally, evaluation reports or ground-truth outcome assessments. ---

EPI-OBJ-outcome
Label: Outcome classification
Source-native identity: success/failure/recovery classification and evaluation intelligence. Representational form: symbolic category used by downstream procedures, plus natural-language interpretation; intermediate substrate uninspected. Claimed role: determine tip category and reliability precedence. Candidate truth-apt content is success over task requirements, rather than merely whether the agent says it succeeded. Distinct from the raw trajectory input and from the routes producing/using it; closest supplied container is RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction, with no supplied object counterpart. SRC-1 §3.1.1, doctrine/design. External test labels and inferred classifications are different provenance paths; no actual classification artifact is supplied. Evidence passage is retained in EPI-RTE-report-interpretation; the optional-label passage is supplied by the runtime extraction record.
EPI-OBJ-decision-analysis
Label: Decision analyses
Source-native identity: backward decision attribution and proposed prevention/improvement steps. Representational form: natural-language causal explanation and structured outcome/decision relations; intermediate storage uninspected. Claimed role: explain why a decision caused a result and supply tip-generation input. Candidate truth-apt content includes causes, contributing factors and superiority of alternatives. This is an intermediate object rather than the enclosing RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction; no supplied object counterpart. SRC-1 §3.1.2, doctrine/design. No actual analysis instance or causal validation supplied. Evidence: EPI-RTE-attribution-generation.
EPI-OBJ-memory-tips
Label: Memory tips
Source-native identity: strategy, recovery and optimization tip content, explanatory purpose, concrete steps, triggers and negative examples, both task/subtask and generic/domain units. Form: natural-language prescriptions and explanations interpreted by the consolidator and later agent. Substrate: described memory/vector store, concrete persistence uninspected. Conditional efficacy and explanatory purpose can be truth-apt; imperatives alone are not assertions. Different categories and granularities share the declared merge and prompt consumers; no evidence distinguishes their attained acceptance. This text object spans outputs of RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction, successors of RT-RTE-tip-consolidation and input of RT-RTE-agent-execution, not part of exactly one route. No supplied object counterpart. SRC-1 §§3.1.3, 3.2.3, doctrine/design. Examples establish described candidate content, not actual production lineage. Evidence for generalized content: EPI-RTE-attribution-generation.
EPI-OBJ-tip-metadata
Label: Tip metadata
Source-native identity: identifier, category, priority, application/task context, source trajectory IDs, source outcome and creation timestamp. Form: symbolic filter/precedence fields; storage is described structured metadata alongside vectors, not inspected. Claimed role: retrieval and merge reliability selection, with provenance for audit. Truth-apt parts concern source identity and outcome; category/priority are also selector instructions. Distinct from advice text and numerical vectors. It spans RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction, RT-RTE-tip-consolidation, RT-RTE-llm-selection; no supplied object counterpart. SRC-1 §§3.1.3, 3.2.4, doctrine/design. IDs alone do not preserve exact premises or causal warrant after merging.
Each generated memory entry contains: a unique identifier, tip category (strategy, recovery, optimization), actionable content, explanatory purpose, concrete implementation steps, trigger condition, optional negative example, application context (or null for generic tips), task category (or null for generic tips), priority level (critical/high/medium/low based on outcome severity), source trajectory ID, and source outcome description. ---

EPI-OBJ-description-index
Label: Description index
Source-native identity: generalized subtask descriptions, canonical cluster descriptions, original task descriptions and their retrieval embeddings. Natural-language descriptions characterize the task/subtask; numerical dense vectors are distributed representations used for clustering/ranking, not individually truth-apt propositions. Vector substrate is described but uninspected. These operative parts differ from EPI-OBJ-memory-tips: the selector matches descriptions then obtains associated tips. Tip-content/purpose embeddings are also described; their relation to description indices is not executable or fully specified. Closest supplied records are RT-RTE-tip-consolidation and RT-CMP-text-embedding: this is index state, not the model component or enclosing route. SRC-1 §§3.2.1–3.2.4, doctrine/design. Abstraction is requested to preserve core operation, not proven semantic equivalence; replacing per-trajectory descriptions changes retrieval lineage.
This description is re-embedded and stored alongside the consolidated tips, replacing the individual per-trajectory descriptions. ---

Routes
EPI-RTE-report-interpretation
Label: Evaluation report interpretation
Part of: RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction
Endpoints/progression: external evaluation report → semantic outcome explanation/classification. Owner: trajectory extractor model; target/domain: meaning of a report and outcome of the source task. This part differs from direct label acquisition and from absent-label inference. Content/update relation: truth-apt transformation: ampliative conjecture for the specified 400-response example. HTTP 400 alone permits causes other than a missing payment parameter; the proposed explanation is not entailed. Exact label acquisition is covered separately by the container's import edge; other report interpretations are indeterminate without their complete premises. SRC-1 §3.1.1, doctrine/design.
- Immediate return: Interpreted evaluation intelligence and outcome classification.
- Later read-back: Classification shapes attribution, tip generation and source-outcome metadata for later consolidation.
- Delegated visibility: uninspected — exact report/intermediate context in the interpretation prompt is not supplied.
- Selection predicate: External evaluation report present; direct labels used when available.
- Invalidation or expiry: uninspected — no interpretation correction or expiry procedure supplied.
- Activation or effect: Declared classification downstream; no actual interpretation trace.
- Evidence limits: No executable prompt, source report artifact or accuracy assessment.
- design conclusion status: claimed
- implementation conclusion status: uninspected
- operation conclusion status: uninspected
Evaluator/condition: model semantic interpretation, not a new external oracle. Possible result: diagnosis and quality judgment. Implemented force: uninspected; declared force is permissive input to the next model stage. Epistemic authority: report-backed outcome only to the extent the interpretation preserves report meaning; explanatory additions have unknown warrant. Operational authority/path: extraction consumes intermediate classification to select category/attribution for this trajectory, with later consolidation consuming retained source outcomes. No human per-diagnosis decision, veto, rejection or rollback established; generic trajectory processing and bounded benchmark corpus are the modes. Mismatch: “ground-truth” report provenance does not make all generated explanations ground truth.
The third stage determines the trajectory outcome. When ground-truth evaluation reports are present, the stage interprets them with semantic understanding: a report stating “API response returned 400 Bad Request” is converted into “Checkout API failed because required payment method parameter was not provided,” and for each outcome indicator, the module determines what the test validates, why it failed (if applicable), the impact on task completion, and overall quality assessment. ---

EPI-RTE-self-outcome
Label: Self-reflective outcome inference
Part of: RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction
Endpoints/progression: extracted reflection/error/self-correction signals → model judgment of success, failure or recovery. Owner/evaluator: extractor model; target/domain: completion of the source task without external labels. Content/update relation: truth-apt transformation: indeterminate. A complete input trace might entail an outcome, or the model might conjecture beyond narration; the capture does not supply one. Source warrant unknown. SRC-1 §3.1.1, doctrine/design.
- Immediate return: Inferred outcome classification.
- Later read-back: Classification shapes attribution/generation and reliability metadata used by consolidation.
- Delegated visibility: uninspected — exact input to this judgment is unavailable.
- Selection predicate: Ground-truth labels absent; extracted self-reflective signals present.
- Invalidation or expiry: uninspected — no independent recheck or expiry specified.
- Activation or effect: Declared fallback permits pipeline continuation without an independent success label.
- Evidence limits: No evaluator calibration, raw judgments or independent comparison supplied.
- design conclusion status: claimed
- implementation conclusion status: uninspected
- operation conclusion status: uninspected
Possible result: inferred success/failure/recovery. Implemented force uninspected; declared force is permissive classification for extraction and eventual ranking at merge. Epistemic authority: model outcome assessment, not external ground truth. Behavioral-authority path: generator via intermediate representation, current extraction; consolidator via source metadata, later merge. The model proposes and decides; no independent answer oracle or per-content human veto established. Trigger/mode: generic completed trajectories lacking labels, not necessarily the reported benchmark mode. No rejection/rollback established. This route is a positive checking design, not an accurate-outcome guarantee.
When ground-truth labels are absent, the stage instead synthesizes outcome from the self-reflective signals extracted in stages 1 and 2—reflection thoughts, self-correction patterns, and error recognition patterns—to infer whether the agent succeeded, failed, or recovered. In both cases, the result is an outcome classification used by downstream components. ---

EPI-RTE-attribution-generation
Label: Attribution and learning generation
Part of: RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction
Endpoints/progression: outcome indicators/intermediate reasoning → backward causal attribution → proposed prevention/improvement → category-specific reusable tips. Owner/proposer: model pipeline. Target/domain: why source task decisions led to failure, recovery, inefficiency or success, and what should help similar tasks. Content/update relation: truth-apt transformation: ampliative conjecture for causal and broad-transfer examples. A single checkout failure does not entail that systematic prerequisite verification succeeds across arbitrary operations; observed chronology alone does not entail causal blame. This classification is not asserted for every emitted sentence: imported evidence or entailed details may coexist, and other unseen outputs remain indeterminate. Imperative steps separately constitute non-truth-apt policy/content updates. SRC-1 §§3.1.2–3.1.3, doctrine/design.
- Immediate return: Decision explanations and proposed tips with purposes, steps, triggers and source metadata.
- Later read-back: Consolidation interprets tips; selected successor text later reaches the agent, not the entire originating trace.
- Delegated visibility: uninspected — full category-specific prompts and intermediate context unavailable; subtask scoping described in the container.
- Selection predicate: Outcome-category indicators and modeled decision chains.
- Invalidation or expiry: uninspected — no per-conjecture falsification/retraction protocol supplied.
- Activation or effect: Proposed guidance retained after management; no trace proves an individual explanation or tip changed behavior.
- Evidence limits: Design and illustrative candidates, not production/test artifacts or causal validation.
- design conclusion status: claimed
- implementation conclusion status: uninspected
- operation conclusion status: uninspected
Evaluator: model plausibility/semantic analysis, without an intervention or tip-level answer oracle. Proposed criteria are concrete, generalizable and causal guidance for future analogous tasks. Possible result: explanation or suggested strategy/recovery/optimization. Implemented force uninspected; declared force advisory to management, later advisory through RT-BAP-guidelines-channel. No demonstrated epistemic acceptance license. Generator proposes; management decides admission; per-tip human veto and rollback uninspected. Generic trajectories and bounded train/dev extraction are modes. Mismatch: calling this causal analysis does not establish causal identification.
Theory account: localized explanatory purpose and conditional prescriptions can formulate theories of task performance. What persists is successor advice, purposes and metadata, not demonstrated retained criticism. Theory-builder conditions 1–4: 1 claimed (localized tips); 2 claimed (semantic consolidation/intended task use); 3 uninspected (no retained challenged-claim/test/blame trace); 4 uninspected (no criticism driving a subsequent round). Addressability: tip/field granularity, not an inspected assumption editor. Persistence intended across tasks, attainment unobserved. Learning: reported aggregate treatment differences, attribution component effect unestablished. Reflection: past behavior represented and intended to shape later behavior, both causal directions unobserved. Autonomous proposal described; reflective/autonomous theory-building operation unestablished. Self-improvement: future task completion objective, declared evidence/update/delivery links; later causal dependence on a specific changed tip remains unestablished. These preserve the separate container assessments rather than supersede them.
The causal analysis module uses an LLM to trace backwards through the agent’s reasoning steps to identify which decisions led to the observed outcome. ---

EPI-RTE-conflict-check
Label: Conflict reliability check
Part of: RT-RTE-tip-consolidation
Endpoints/progression: contradictory tips within one cluster plus outcome/category/priority metadata → model relative-reliability judgment. Owner/evaluator: consolidator LLM. Target/domain: competing guidance for a shared subtask, not each tip's causal explanation in all domains. Content/update relation: no content change to tips at this checking edge; a comparison result is produced for the separate disposition edge. SRC-1 §3.2.3, doctrine/design.
- Immediate return: Relative reliability/precedence judgment.
- Later read-back: Disposition consumes judgment within consolidation; retention of a separate judgment record is uninspected.
- Delegated visibility: Tips associated with the cluster regardless of source context/granularity; exact prompt uninspected.
- Selection predicate: Detected contradictory guidance within a cluster.
- Invalidation or expiry: uninspected — no expiry or independent correction contract for the judgment.
- Activation or effect: Declared precedence for successful-source and recovery advice; no actual judgment artifact supplied.
- Evidence limits: Metadata ranking criteria only; no fresh replay or validation of successor advice.
- design conclusion status: claimed
- implementation conclusion status: uninspected
- operation conclusion status: uninspected
The LLM proposes/judges comparison; human veto uninspected. Source outcome metadata supplies evidence, not a new answer oracle for the successor. Mode: generic accumulated clusters including reported train/dev-derived tips. Possible result: preferred guidance. Implemented force uninspected; declared ranking force on the disposition consumer through consolidation context for the current merge. Epistemic authority is relative reliability under source-outcome precedence, not independently accepted efficacy. Mismatch: “proven correction” describes source patterns; the capture supplies no proof of the general prescription. Outcome success is a counterexample to the claim that there is no evidence-consuming curation, but not proof of tip truth.
When tips from different trajectories offer contradictory guidance (e.g., one tip recommends retrying failed authentication immediately while another recommends re-retrieving credentials first), the system uses outcome metadata—tip category, priority level, and source trajectory success/failure status—to determine which guidance is more reliable. ---

EPI-RTE-conflict-disposition
Label: Conflict precedence disposition
Part of: RT-RTE-tip-consolidation
Endpoints/progression: compared contradictory guidance → prefer successful-source/recovery tip in the consolidated successor → retention. Owner/decision-maker: merging LLM; domain: guidance in one cluster. Distinct from the preceding reliability check: this edge grants or withholds successor inclusion. Content/update relation: non-truth-apt policy/content update: change retained guidance precedence. Semantic content of any combined successor remains indeterminate without actual before/after tips. SRC-1 §3.2.3, doctrine/design.
- Immediate return: Consolidated guidance with preferred contradictory content.
- Later read-back: Retrieval selects successor guidance for future task prompts.
- Delegated visibility: Same cluster tips and metadata as the comparison stage; executable prompt uninspected.
- Selection predicate: Successful trajectory takes precedence over failed; recovery pattern over speculative prevention.
- Invalidation or expiry: uninspected — no reversible deletion, rejection history, expiry or rollback implementation supplied.
- Activation or effect: Declared relative supersession at merge, not observed epistemic withdrawal or later action effect.
- Evidence limits: No specific merge decision, tested successor, transaction or provenance reconstruction.
- design conclusion status: claimed
- implementation conclusion status: uninspected
- operation conclusion status: uninspected
Trigger: contradictory accumulated advice; proposed change: select preferred guidance. Computational proposal and decision lie with consolidator, human approval/veto uninspected. Guidance shaping proposal: source-outcome precedence rule quoted by RT-RTE-tip-consolidation. It persists as successor text/metadata, while the fate of the rejected original is uninspected. Mode: accumulated trajectory-derived memory; no fresh successor oracle. Criterion/intended use/scope: metadata-based relative reliability for later task guidance inside a cluster. This is operational admission, not demonstrated evidence-consuming acceptance of a truth-apt ampliative claim. Implemented force uninspected; declared permissive/ranking force reaches storage and later advisory guidelines over future tasks. Mismatch: retention of a preferred tip does not establish its causal explanation or applicability outside the source scope.
Theory account: conditional advice can express a theory; preferred whole-unit replacement is intended. Theory-builder conditions 1–4: 1 claimed (localized successor); 2 claimed (semantic precedence/use); 3 uninspected (no retained explicit criticism/test/blame statement); 4 uninspected (no criticism-to-next-round trace). Addressability at whole-tip/category/priority level; persistence intended across tasks. Learning benefit of this selection component unestablished. Reflection and autonomous computational selection described, causal operation unobserved; no reflective/autonomous theory-builder verdict. Self-improvement's later dependence link remains unestablished for this update. Evidence for the criterion is supplied in the parent record; evidence that the check has a consequential consumer is the consolidation operation:
Within each cluster, an LLM-based consolidation process merges redundant tips, resolves conflicts, and produces a curated set of non-overlapping guidance. ---

EPI-RTE-benchmark-check
Label: AppWorld outcome evaluation
Part of: RT-RTE-agent-execution
Endpoints/progression: completed evaluation task/application states → AppWorld programmatic tests → TGC/SGC scores and reported configuration comparisons. Owner/evaluator: external AppWorld framework and evaluation driver, not memory generator. Target/domain: specified task goals, API usage, database/end states and all variants of a benchmark scenario. Content/update relation: truth-apt transformation: acquisition/import for external outcomes entering pipeline/reporting; their source warrant remains unknown without evaluator implementation and raw runs. The described all-tests/all-variants aggregation is non-ampliative scoring, not a causal explanation. SRC-1 §§4.1.1, 4.1.5, reported operation plus doctrine/design.
- Immediate return: Task pass/fail and scenario pass/fail, aggregated percentage scores.
- Later read-back: Optional outcome labels can be used by extraction; evaluation does not establish updates after each held-out task.
- Delegated visibility: inapplicable — an external benchmark check is described, not a delegated model invocation.
- Selection predicate: All programmatic task tests pass; every scenario variant passes for SGC.
- Invalidation or expiry: uninspected — evaluation reset, recheck and withdrawn-result implementation unavailable.
- Activation or effect: Reported configuration scores; no inspected check execution or tip-specific consumer effect.
- Evidence limits: No evaluator code, raw results, repeated-run distributions or independently authenticated causal experiment.
- design conclusion status: claimed
- implementation conclusion status: uninspected
- operation conclusion status: uninspected
Criterion/intended use: all-tests-pass acceptance of task outcome for benchmark scoring, all-variants-pass for scenario scoring; not tip-level knowledge acceptance. Possible result: success/failure and aggregate comparison. Implemented force uninspected; described scoring consumer receives test results with enforcing force on pass classification over the evaluation task/scenario, and extraction may receive labels with permissive classification force for future memory generation. It does not authorize or veto the agent's next API call. Researchers select evaluation configurations; no automated production variant promotion or human per-tip approval established. Trigger/mode: bounded train/dev/test-normal experiment with independent tasks capped at 30 steps. No product rollback follows from a failed score. Mismatch: outcome warrant cannot identify the explanation, safe replay, component contribution or generalized correction. Held-out versus source-partition comparisons have different generalization scope.
A task is successful only if all unit tests pass. ---

Claims
EPI-CLM-causal-attribution
Label: Automated causal analysis
Claimed operation: identify decisions causing observed outcomes and propose corrections. SRC-1 §3.1.2, doctrine/design. This explanatory mechanism claim differs from the aggregate performance claim RT-CLM-reported-results; closest route is RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction. No supplied claim counterpart. Design support: backward LLM trace analysis, not causal interventions. No implementation, observed attribution output or independent accuracy study supplied. Outcome comparisons do not isolate attribution from generation, management and retrieval. Supported conclusion: proposed causal-explanation production, with accuracy and causal identification unknown.
The Decision Attribution Analyzer performs automated causal analysis to identify which decisions and reasoning steps led to observed outcomes. It analyzes all outcome types—not just failures. ---

EPI-CLM-provenance-validation
Label: Provenance enables validation
Claimed operation/warrant: source links permit checking future effectiveness, investigating tip origins and auditing learning decisions. SRC-1 §2.1, doctrine/design. Distinct from aggregate benefit RT-CLM-reported-results; nearest route RT-RTE-tip-consolidation. No supplied claim counterpart. Metadata design supplies source IDs, outcome and timestamp; it does not supply an executed audit, provenance-fidelity check, per-tip effectiveness comparison or automated withdrawal route. Source IDs survive as a described plural field after consolidation, but exact input-to-successor claim correspondence is unknown. Supported conclusion: intended auditability rather than demonstrated validation or warrant preservation.
This enables validation of whether learnings are effective (do similar failures still occur after the learning is deployed?), investigation of why certain guidance was generated, and auditing of the learning system’s decisions. ---

EPI-CLM-feedback-cycle
Label: Self-reinforcing feedback cycle
Claimed operation: guidance improves future trajectories which feed further learning. SRC-1 §§3, 3.3.3, doctrine/design. Distinct from reported outcomes RT-CLM-reported-results: a repeated causal cycle rather than an aggregate score contrast. Closest routes are RT-RTE-trajectory-extraction, RT-RTE-tip-consolidation and RT-RTE-agent-execution; no supplied claim counterpart. Design supports an experience-fed retained-context update and future delivery path. Actual round-by-round criticism, revised reliance, improved trajectory quality and next-round incorporation remain unobserved. AppWorld results compare bounded configurations, not a continuous online trajectory-improvement cycle. Learning, reflection, autonomy and self-improvement therefore retain independent assessments, not one inferred status.
These phases form a self-reinforcing cycle: as more trajectories are processed, the memory system accumulates increasingly comprehensive and refined guidance. Agents that receive this guidance produce higher-quality trajectories that may reveal subtler patterns for further learning. ---
