ASISAS 2026 talk

Preparing the presentation of the ASISAS 2026 position paper "Where It Lives Is Not What It Is" (ingest). Slot: 10 minutes of slides, 2 minutes of questions. Posed by the operator, 2026-09-01.

slides.html is a self-contained HTML deck, copied verbatim to the published site (arrow keys / space / click to navigate; also published as a Claude artifact at https://claude.ai/code/artifact/1b676774-3fa9-4539-a05e-023f25a747a6). It follows the paper's argument but applies deliberate deviations from the submitted text:

  • natural-language replaces prose as the representational-form category name — rationale in representational form ("Revision rationale"). Shown on the slides as the paper's term struck through in front of the replacement.
  • memory replaces retained artifact(s) as the talk's running term — same strikeout device in the subtitle and headlines. Rationale: use the audience's word and then unpack it, rather than carry a coined compound through a 10-minute slot.
  • The main example (slide 3) is framed by the storage question the audience actually asks — "database or flat files?" — and shows the same dependency lesson fitting both answers in every shape, so the division settles only operational mechanics, not how the lesson acts.
  • The three forms are presented through the two-axis derivation (assigned consequences × localization, with the fourth cell unoccupied) rather than stipulated as a list — derivation in the same definition note.
  • Two picture-only "interrupt" slides (dark ground, no section number) act as speaker cues after the talk-heavy stretches: two identical roads, one closed by a striped barrier and one with a no-traffic sign (Vienna C2 / Polish B-1) the travel path continues past (= "the script blocks; the prompt is interpreted") after the script-vs-prompt comparison, and a sugar cube in one glass beside the same sugar dissolved in another (= "an addressable unit vs content spread through the medium — probed by tasting, not read") after the derivation grid.

Closes when the talk is delivered; any durable presentation lessons get extracted before deletion.
