MemPalace report verification

Verification

The supplied reports now support a bounded source-grounded account. The memory correction removes the unconditional temporal-successor visibility guarantee. No publication blocker remains. The three local limits below remain consequential for host, graph-curation and evaluator comparisons.

I read the complete supplied members, types, record contract, structural check, correction answers and previous verification. The memory answer is an argument for a repair, not evidence that it succeeded; I checked the changed record, surrounding conclusions and reconciliation against source. The other answer files are empty. The structural check reports none, so there is no structural failure to route.

The registered checkout's HEAD equals the revision in boundary, its working tree is clean, and its tracked top-level entries agree with the boundary's coverage table. Source inspection uses SRC-1 implementation and explicitly distinguished doctrine/design at that pin. No target, host, provider, test or evaluator was executed. Source wiring supports capacity, not observed exercise, reliable host compliance or benefit.

Record and behavior checks

I assessed all 56 declarations, their evidence anchors and statuses, the annotations, all six containment relations and the three reconciliation amendments. The table groups records by the behavior and evidence that decides their meaning; it is not a claim to have audited every implementation in the repository. Minimum passages already retained by the cited records support the accepted findings without being copied here. No member declares an evidenced absence.

Records examined Independent checks and disposition
Runtime components Checked model factories, revision settings, ONNX acquisition, inference interfaces, endpoint requests and automatic provider model selection in SRC-1 mempalace/embedding.py, mempalace/embeddinggemma2.py and mempalace/llm_client.py. The pinned EmbeddingGemma2 default differs from configurable revisions, unpinned ONNX acquisition and opaque service identifiers. The inspected clients request inference/classification, not weight training. These scoped findings do not decide provider-internal parameter changes or all installed model versions.
RT-RTE-hermes-capture, RT-RTE-hook-ingest Traced host readiness, direct Chroma open, completed-turn enqueue, queue saturation, filing, shutdown timeout, delegation and no-op pre-compression in SRC-1 mempalace/integrations/hermes/__init__.py; checked exchange upsert in mempalace/convo_miner.py and transcript routing/submission in mempalace/hooks_cli.py. Capture is best effort. Scheduling is not confirmation of retained content; parent task/result capture is not a complete child transcript. The report correctly avoids extending public-wrapper guarantees to the adapter's direct backend open.
RT-RTE-palace-recall, RT-BAP-agent-context Followed direct drawer candidate selection, source-scoped closet boosts, lexical best-chunk/neighbor hydration, truncation and final candidate processing in SRC-1 mempalace/searcher/query.py, mempalace/searcher/candidates.py; checked MCP text serialization in mempalace/mcp_server/protocol.py, Hermes returns and DSH registration/first-assembly wait/disposal in .dsh-plugin/lib/recall.js. The later consumer receives selected material, not necessarily the full stored drawer. Host-owned assembly and interpretation remain separate from delivery.
RT-RTE-mcp-dispatch, RT-RTE-hub-fallback, RT-CLM-readonly-boundary Checked actual preflight order, refused-name sets, underlying light-tool classification, forwarding and no-replay branch in SRC-1 mempalace/mcp_server/protocol.py, mempalace/mcp_server/_guards.py, mempalace/mcp_light_server.py, mempalace/mcp_proxy.py; compared HTTP auth handling in mempalace/mcp_server/http.py. These support protocol-level controls conditional on classification/configuration, not universal immutable storage or exactly-once remote execution. Direct CLI/API/callback writes and recovery effects remain outside the name gate.
RT-RTE-init-detection, RT-RTE-backend-registration Checked setup persistence/registry consumers and people/project versus topic confirmation in SRC-1 mempalace/cli/cmd_init.py, mempalace/entity_detector.py; examined backend discovery/type checks in mempalace/backends/registry.py, and identity-check/error/compatibility branches in mempalace/palace/collection.py. Human editing, auto-accept and automatic topic admission are distinct. Plugin loadability is not semantic safety; dropping unsupported read-only options prevents a universal backend read-only guarantee. Legacy identity warning and metadata-read bypasses are correctly qualified.
RT-OBJ-task-request, RT-OBJ-patch-artifact, RT-RTE-task-launch, RT-RTE-patch-delivery, RT-BAP-task-handoff Read task construction and handoff, workspace validation through subprocess return, acknowledgment and artifact/ready-event operations in SRC-1 mempalace/tasks.py, mempalace/cli/cmd_coord.py, mempalace/logstream.py. A pointer requires later reload. Launch checks starting identity/workspace state; patch persistence and an event do not install code or establish successful verification. The clean-checkout and nonzero-exit statements follow executable branches, not only comments.
RT-CLM-recall-protocol Compared SRC-1 skills/mempalace-recall/SKILL.md with capture, normalization and selected delivery. Exact quotation is an instructed policy over stored text, not a lossless raw-input-to-answer guarantee. Queue saturation, source selection and truncation are valid counterexamples to that stronger reading.
Memory component and operative objects Checked the source-native distinctions among drawer text, routing metadata, dense vectors, closet lines, diary text, identity file, temporal triples, tunnels, media references and redacted WAL. Relevant SRC-1 anchors are mempalace/convo_miner.py, mempalace/palace/closets.py, mempalace/closet_llm.py, mempalace/mcp_server/tools_diary.py, mempalace/layers.py, mempalace/knowledge_graph.py, mempalace/palace_graph.py, mempalace/dynamics.py, mempalace/media.py, mempalace/wal.py. Descriptor text is not opaque media content; vectors are not updated model weights; identifiers and access statistics are not source truth. The closet provider has a separate caller/product from setup classification.
MEM-RTE-source-filing, MEM-RTE-closet-regeneration, MEM-RTE-diary-checkpoint Checked optional user spell correction, score-threshold extraction, source purge/retry/partial cleanup, message cursor/ID handling, LLM generation/packing/purge, hook prefixes/save markers and daily-file chunk rebuild in SRC-1 mempalace/normalize.py, mempalace/general_extractor.py, mempalace/miner.py, mempalace/convo_miner.py, mempalace/sweeper.py, mempalace/cli/cmd_mine.py, mempalace/closet_llm.py, mempalace/hooks_cli.py, mempalace/diary_ingest.py. Derived retention and later selection are supported. Neither generated quote labels nor caller-authored summaries establish semantic fidelity or retained explanatory reasons. DSH checkpoint equivalence remains limited below.
MEM-RTE-wake-context Read SRC-1 mempalace/layers.py through candidate retrieval, importance/recency sorting and snippet rendering. The 2,000-candidate window, 15 selected drawers and 200-character snippets support the reported selector. The identity file is not token-capped; room markers/headings and fallback scans qualify the advertised budget/global-order reading. L2 remains an exposed read capability, not proof of a deployed consumer.
MEM-RTE-temporal-facts Read SRC-1 mempalace/knowledge_graph.py temporal filtering and add/invalidate/supersede bodies, and the corresponding handlers in mempalace/mcp_server/tools_kg.py. The corrected insertion-versus-reuse account is supported; details and dependent passages are assessed below. Transactional old-row closure and successor insertion-or-reuse do not establish truth acceptance.
MEM-RTE-tunnel-traversal, MEM-RTE-media-index, MEM-RTE-memory-maintenance Checked traversal-to-persisted-counter and audit consumers in SRC-1 mempalace/palace_graph.py, mempalace/dynamics.py, mempalace/palace_audit.py; descriptor/vector storage and availability output in mempalace/media.py, mempalace/searcher/media_search.py; logical/physical drawer handling, closet invalidation and scoped sync in mempalace/mcp_server/tools_write.py, mempalace/sync.py. These support positive bounded mechanisms, not ranking benefit, payload immutability or global erasure. Memory's annotations preserve mixed provenance and the cache/backup/replica withdrawal horizon. Artifact-before-event synchronization in mempalace/logsync.py is transport retention, not patch application.
Epistemic objects and routes Checked each ledger function against its consequential consumer. SRC-1 mempalace/mcp_server/tools_read.py computes similarity matches; mempalace/mcp_server/tools_diary.py consumes them to skip or file, including filing on dedup errors. mempalace/mcp_server/tools_write.py validates, slices, probes and revises storage. KG handlers change temporal classification, not truth warrant. mempalace/mcp_light_server.py derives advisory tags without reordering hits. mempalace/palace_audit.py and mempalace/cli/cmd_audit.py connect scores to an optional failure exit. mempalace/cli/cmd_tunnels.py retains reviewable proposals and applies/prunes only on the selected branch with stale-wing filtering. Check, disposition, retention and advisory output remain distinct. The concrete chunking/tag/membership deductions follow the shown rules; they are not observed executions.
EPI-CLM-benchmark-recall, EPI-RTE-retrieval-evaluation Compared reported figures/splits in SRC-1 README.md with raw corpus construction, returned-ranking fill, session/turn reference mapping, metric formulas and optional report persistence in benchmarks/longmemeval_bench.py. The reports correctly attribute unreproduced retrieval results, separate them from QA accuracy and withhold component causation/live-loop transfer. NDCG comparability remains limited below.
WF-RTE-task-create, WF-RTE-event-ack, WF-CLM-review-closure and workflow annotations Read the complete SRC-1 skills/mempalace-task/SKILL.md and mempalace/tasks.py; checked controlled launch and append-only acknowledgment implementation and closure/hash/outcome doctrine in integrations/shared/coordination-protocol.md. Exact-task approval is instructed, not enforced by creation. Claims are cooperative, not exclusive execution locks. Requester verification/application is downstream of stored patch delivery. Reported closure is not proof of filesystem effects or passing tests; filing an outcome drawer is prescribed, not performed automatically by submission.

Correction, relations and reconciliation

The previous memory blocker is resolved. In MEM-RTE-temporal-facts, the selection predicate, read-back/evidence discussion, admission discussion and integration issue now distinguish insertion at the requested instant from reuse of an already-open successor. SRC-1 mempalace/knowledge_graph.py updates the old row before looking up an open successor; reuse returns its ID without changing valid_from. The as-of filter checks both bounds. Thus an old active row and a later-starting open successor can still yield no eligible row at the replacement instant. This is a valid implementation deduction, not an observed failure. Memory now retains that counterexample explicitly and labels the handler's unconditional passage as intent. Its surrounding core ideas, write-side table and read-back section require only temporal withdrawal and later querying, not the withdrawn unconditional visibility guarantee. No dependent unconditional guarantee remains.

EPI-RTE-kg-temporal already withholds the complete transaction/as-of guarantee; its references to requesting a shared boundary are compatible with the corrected account. Reconciliation's temporal disposition accurately preserves both the memory finding and epistemic inspection limit. Fuller inspection by one analyst does not silently upgrade another's status.

All six Part of: relations are semantically valid: wake selection and relevance decoration belong to the recall container; duplicate checking, checkpoint disposition, drawer revision and KG maintenance belong to MCP dispatch. These are separately assessed functions, not rival identities. The memory source-filing, diary and maintenance routes span additional callers and therefore only overlap the narrower dispatch parts.

The three identity amendments correctly connect duplicate drawer-text, triple-row and KG-maintenance referents. They retain both declarations and analyst-owned findings. They do not collapse text with metadata/vectors, providers with outputs, checking with disposition, or a valid container with one part. Reconciliation covers memory's integration issues, including executable adapter construction versus stale prose, and connects workflow producers to runtime task/patch consumers. No missing required part or unresolved cross-report conflict is established by these supplied versions. The source-internal temporal intent/implementation mismatch is now retained as such, not concealed as analyst agreement on a stronger guarantee.

Consequential omission questions and stopping decision

Omission questions were selected from the frozen tracked tree and shipped state producers/consumers, not only the submitted evidence passages. I rechecked the previous verification's local findings rather than accepting them by inheritance.

  • Do host alternates change the capture or compaction conclusion? SRC-1 .dsh-plugin/lib/autosave.js links transcript flush, scheduled hooks and host lifecycle events. Hook completion is not awaited at the turn-stopping serial point, and non-silent checkpoint prompts are not relayed. Paired with Python hook routing and Hermes's no-op pre-compression, this preserves the best-effort capture/host-owned compaction conclusion, while preventing a uniform cross-host prompted-checkpoint claim. The first limit retains that distinction.
  • Does graph maintenance or a shipped checker change the epistemic conclusion? Read SRC-1 mempalace/cli/cmd_kg.py, mempalace/kg_normalize.py, the temporal writer and mempalace/fact_checker.py. Normalization persists model-proposed predicate/object rewrites for editing and later explicit application; vocabulary validation is not verification that meaning was preserved. The checker compares parsed claims with retained graph/registry content and can return a failing process result. These are material additions to a partial inventory, but not independent world-evidence acceptance. The reports' bounded positive account and explicit refusal of a system-complete negative remain valid. The second limit withholds complete graph-curation/evaluator comparisons.
  • Do evaluator details support stronger recall or cross-system metric claims? Raw benchmark construction uses user turns rather than the full live capture loop; missing corpus indices can be appended after retrieved ranks. The NDCG formula normalizes only the relevance labels already present in top-k. This preserves label-relative recall interpretation but prevents an unqualified standard-NDCG comparison. The third limit retains the denominator issue.

Further optional expansion stopped because each selected material challenge has a supported disposition, and no identified contradiction or unsupported central claim is left without one. Additional native/backend, provider, parser, repair/backup/replication and evaluator files do not themselves require exhaustive tracing. The reports already name these alternatives and withhold their reliability, global deletion, source-fidelity and system-complete epistemic conclusions. This verification does not turn those uninspected alternatives into evidenced absence or complete inventory. Retained text can shape later behavior without weight updates; delivery, learning benefit, reflection and exercised self-improvement remain separate claims, not one bundled verdict.

Limits

  • MEM-RTE-diary-checkpoint and RT-RTE-hook-ingest do not inventory every host checkpoint branch. DSH schedules hook runs but does not relay the non-silent branch's request for model-authored saving. Preserve the Python silent-prefix and transcript-submission findings; withhold equivalence of prompted checkpoint completion across hosts. SRC-1 .dsh-plugin/lib/autosave.js:

mempalace asked the model to write the ${hook} checkpoint itself (hooks.silent_save is false). + 'The DSH plugin does not relay that request, so this checkpoint was not written; ' + 'set hooks.silent_save to true in ~/.mempalace/config.json to have MemPalace write it directly.', --- .dsh-plugin/lib/autosave.js

  • The partial graph/epistemic inventory in MEM-RTE-temporal-facts, MEM-OBJ-kg-triples and epistemic coverage omits a separately traced model-proposal-to-temporal-rewrite route and standalone KG-relative contradiction check. This prevents a complete comparison of graph curation, model authorship and evaluator consumers, not the reports' bounded finding that inspected storage/admission does not certify source truth. SRC-1 mempalace/cli/cmd_kg.py, mempalace/kg_normalize.py, mempalace/fact_checker.py: the normalization proposal is retained for review,

print(f"\n Plan saved to {path}. Edit it, then re-run with --yes to apply.") --- mempalace/cli/cmd_kg.py and the checker has a consequential diagnostic consumer, not an automatic memory-acceptance gate: found = check_text(text_in, palace_path=args.palace) if found: print(json.dumps(found, indent=2)) sys.exit(1) print("No contradictions found.") --- mempalace/fact_checker.py

  • EPI-OBJ-retrieval-metrics and EPI-RTE-retrieval-evaluation establish formula-relative metrics but do not characterize NDCG's denominator. SRC-1 benchmarks/longmemeval_bench.py builds the ideal order only from relevance labels already present in returned top-k, not the full reference set. Withhold comparison with NDCG normalized against all available relevant items. The recall-any/all interpretation and unreproduced R@5 attribution remain intact:

    relevances = [1.0 if corpus_ids[idx] in correct_ids else 0.0 for idx in rankings[:k]] ideal = sorted(relevances, reverse=True) idcg = dcg(ideal, k) if idcg == 0: return 0.0 return dcg(relevances, k) / idcg --- benchmarks/longmemeval_bench.py
