Verification

The five submitted members support a bounded implementation account of score-directed research search, retained experiment state and benchmark-specific checking. No material blocker was found. This judgment does not establish successful execution, improved capacity, scientific discovery or provider-model fixity. The correction-answer inputs are empty and the supplied report-check reports none; there is no structural finding to route.

Independent tracing and record dispositions

I rechecked the frozen checkout's HEAD and clean status, inspected its top-level tracked tree, and traced source text rather than executing the target. The revision agrees with boundary. The shipped drivers and adapters belong to the workflow; the excluded agent/provider internals are not silently attributed to it. The boundary's initial inspection gaps are distinguished from later analyst reads.

Search, admission, score authority and delivery. I read SRC-1, run_search.py and search/tree.py, including bootstrap, repeated runs, artifact movement, pruning, budgets, selection, reload and termination. RT-RTE-search-execution, RT-RTE-plan-admission, RT-OBJ-stats, RT-BAP-score-selector and RT-CLM-budget-stop are supported at their declared implementation strength. Selection is stochastic BAVT; Q includes descendant returns. Packet presence controls execution versus expansion. Bootstrap checks plan existence and normalizes the prior, not requested scientific provenance. Pruning occurs after execution, retains artifacts and excludes the rejected score from backpropagation. Budget checks do not preempt a delegated operation; initialization precedes the loop timer. Skip-evaluation bypasses both worker and evaluator after setup. The workflow delivery account correctly distinguishes retained outputs and best-Q reporting from a newly verified final result.

Models, plans and executor envelopes. I inspected SRC-1, search/reflector.py, benchmarks/utils.py, benchmarks/autolab/__init__.py, benchmarks/fire_bench/run_agent.py, and the fresh/inherited Codex and OpenHands runner command/context bodies. RT-CMP-coding-model, RT-CMP-reflector-model, RT-CMP-eval-model and RT-CMP-ragchecker-models identify configured external models, not immutable weights. Their parameter-change uncertainty is justified. RT-OBJ-skill, RT-OBJ-sandbox and RT-BAP-plan-worker distinguish model-interpreted guidance, copied executable state and configuration requesting skill invocation. Host full-access requests, container mounts and the OpenHands Docker socket support the refusal to infer universal confinement. FIRE-Bench's direct dispatcher also supports parallel task launches, but the search adapter requests one worker at a time. Neither that alternate nor nonzero worker exits contradicts the bounded sequential search account.

Retained memory and continuity. Complete tree/reflector reads and direct staging, inheritance and baseline reads support MEM-OBJ-prior, MEM-OBJ-diff, MEM-OBJ-changes, MEM-OBJ-packet, MEM-OBJ-log-brief, MEM-OBJ-pruned-children, MEM-OBJ-reflector-session, MEM-OBJ-insights and MEM-OBJ-history-shown. These are distinct operative artifacts rather than one homogeneous store. Their annotations preserve the different numeric, executable and natural-language consumers. Reasons, transformation provenance and insight production remain requested or unresolved, not observed.

MEM-RTE-log-brief retains literal head/tail lines, not inferred lessons, and leaves the full log reachable. MEM-RTE-insight-delivery correctly identifies file-filtered supply rather than semantic retrieval: worker loaders concatenate other-task text before the current plan, whereas reflector copying provides file availability. The unknown producer does not negate these positive consumer paths. MEM-RTE-session-resume separates the identifier/counter from opaque session content. Its recovery qualification is independently confirmed below.

I read SRC-1, run_vanilla.py in full. RT-RTE-vanilla-retention is supported: strict improvement controls best-workspace replacement, rejected attempt packets survive, and the displayed history has ten-entry/400-character limits. Replay and destructive-copy exceptions are correctly exposed by the memory annotations. No transactional recovery or complete narrative replay follows.

Evaluation and epistemic force. I traced SRC-1, benchmarks/autolab/__init__.py setup, worker, evaluation and Docker-verifier bodies; benchmarks/fire_bench/__init__.py evaluation, log discovery and score attachment; benchmarks/fire_bench/eval/RAGChecker/utils.py conclusion functions; benchmarks/fire_bench/eval/RAGChecker/eval.py scoring and optional analysis; and the relevant extraction/checking and arithmetic functions in benchmarks/fire_bench/eval/RAGChecker/ragchecker/evaluator.py and benchmarks/fire_bench/eval/RAGChecker/ragchecker/computation.py. RT-RTE-score-evaluation, EPI-OBJ-core-idea, EPI-OBJ-gt-answer, EPI-RTE-conclusion-extraction, EPI-RTE-reference-check and EPI-RTE-score-attachment correctly distinguish transformed narrative, imported reference, model labels, conditional arithmetic and normalized packet metrics. The timestamp counterexample is sound. The generalization prompt requests omission of concrete detail; actual semantic fidelity is unobserved. Packet-level withholding of reference-derived diagnoses does not deny filesystem access to evaluator outputs.

Complete source reads of SRC-1, benchmarks/autolab/tasks/gaussian_blur/tests/test.sh and benchmarks/autolab/tasks/gaussian_blur/tests/verify_correctness.py support EPI-RTE-gaussian-check. Fixed-input pixel comparison is a genuine independent check, distinct from binary-reported performance. The arithmetic example and finite-test qualification are sound. EPI-RTE-error-analysis is an implemented callable helper with a disabled ordinary CLI branch, not an active correction consumer. EPI-CLM-score-correctness accurately attributes the stronger prompt claim and bounds it against reference-relative evaluation. No universal scientific acceptance or lifecycle integration is asserted by the epistemic conclusion.

The theory-condition, reflection, autonomy, learning and self-improvement assessments in RT-RTE-plan-admission are separately scoped. Retained results and prospective guidance establish an operational feedback pathway. They do not establish actual hypothesis content, content-directed criticism, exercised theory iteration or successful improvement. The afforded consumption assessment does not claim observed compliance.

Relations and conflicts

I checked every declared record's source anchors, evidence strength and relevant consumer against the traces above. There are no declared evidenced absences to accept as system-complete negatives. Workflow declares no competing records; its two annotations add delivery/rejection findings to the existing search and proposal routes.

The three supersessions in reconciliation are justified. EPI-OBJ-prior, EPI-OBJ-log-brief and EPI-OBJ-packet identify the same node-side objects as their memory counterparts. The memory packet's additional baseline coverage is explicitly distinguished, not attributed to the epistemic inspection. The operative-object Part of: relations describe outputs/inputs within the enclosing routes; the five epistemic evaluation-route parts describe distinct transformations, checking paths or a dormant alternate inside the evaluation container. None implies route identity, stronger status or exclusive coverage. Keeping valid containers beside these parts is appropriate.

The recovery disagreement includes both findings, record citations, evidence and the prevented conclusion. Source inspection supports memory's finer account: timeout returns before unlinking; a nonzero resumed return triggers unlinking, but subsequent stdout parsing can save an identifier again. Runtime and workflow describe a real clearing action, without asserting a fresh-session invariant. I therefore treat this as a local recovery-coverage limit, not a central runtime-classification defect. The unconditional inference remains prohibited. Replay qualification, stale artifact pointers, unresolved insight production and evaluator specificity are correctly connected rather than falsely superseded. No other unresolved material contradiction was found.

Omission questions and stopping decision

The search basis was the frozen tracked tree, alternate shipped entry points and producer/consumer dependencies, not only the reports' anchors. Three consequential questions received additional attention:

  1. Could a shipped caller bypass the claimed search/admission policy? Driver, baseline, adapter and direct-dispatch reads establish the stated alternates. The reports do not generalize the tree gate to baseline/manual state or claim a universal execution envelope. No additional admission correction is needed.
  2. Could an insight or method-text producer close a stronger learning/reflection loop? I searched SRC-1 Python and shell files for insight writes, global-guidance names, reflect_program, preparation tools and instruction consumers, then read benchmarks/fire_bench/benchmark/reflect_program.md, benchmarks/fire_bench/benchmark/tree_parser.py and benchmarks/fire_bench/benchmark/plan_generator.py. Preparation scripts perform model-mediated paper parsing/enrichment and save output; ordinary runners read instruction.txt, not the default enriched output. The reflector-program document declares global-guidance editing and reversion, but the inspected driver/reflector dispatch does not load it. These additional artifacts expand possible preparation/doctrine coverage, not evidence of an operating global-guidance loop. The reports already withhold complete task/preparation lineage and system-complete epistemic negatives; the partial inventory can remain with the limit below.
  3. Could evaluator transformations or an alternate diagnostic path change the score-warrant conclusion? Direct extraction, checking, attachment, Gaussian and disabled-analysis reads support separate evaluator domains and the stated mismatch. Further per-task/evaluator inspection could enlarge the inventory, but is not needed to preserve these scoped positive findings.

Additional preparation evidence is implementation, not observed operation:

instruction_gt = build_instruction_gt(base_instruction, supplement) output_path.write_text(instruction_gt, encoding="utf-8") --- benchmarks/fire_bench/benchmark/plan_generator.py

The method-editing statement is doctrine/design, not evidence of dispatch:

This file defines the rules and constraints for the CodeAct reflector. Edit it to tune reflection behaviour without touching code. --- benchmarks/fire_bench/benchmark/reflect_program.md

Further omission expansion stopped because the selected challenges have supported dispositions and no identified alternative requires withdrawing a central conclusion. Unassessed task, utility, enroot-helper and low-level evaluator behavior still prevents exhaustive comparisons. This stopping decision is not evidence that further mechanisms are absent.

Limits

  • Failed-resume clearing is conditional and need not persist. RT-RTE-plan-admission, MEM-RTE-session-resume, the workflow recovery account and the reconciled conflict concern the same SRC-1, search/reflector.py recovery path. Timeout bypasses clearing, and failure stdout may save an identifier after unlinking. Withhold guaranteed fresh-next-call recovery and complete failed-process coverage; requested continuation and the explicit nonzero-return clearing action remain supported.
  • Baseline replay can lose narrative text previously delivered live. MEM-OBJ-history-shown and RT-RTE-vanilla-retention, SRC-1, run_vanilla.py, distinguish conclusion-or-summary live formatting from summary-only replay. Withhold complete narrative continuity across restart; score/action replay and bounded history staging remain supported. Workspace replacement is also nontransactional, so recorded improvement alone does not guarantee a reusable best workspace.
  • Saved packet pointers need not survive pruning rename. MEM-OBJ-packet and RT-RTE-search-execution, SRC-1, run_search.py, retain files but update paths before hiding the directory. Withhold reliable later dereference through those packet paths. Hidden artifacts, the failure digest and direct filesystem access remain supported alternatives.
  • Cross-task insight production and initial admission remain unresolved. MEM-OBJ-insights and MEM-RTE-insight-delivery, SRC-1, search/reflector.py and benchmarks/fire_bench/agents/codex/run.py, support copy/load without establishing an automatic outcome-to-insight publication loop. Local copies can outlive source deletion and worker delivery has no semantic relevance budget. Withhold a closed cross-task learning loop, verified source quality and evidence-based withdrawal; preserve the positive delivery findings.
  • Preparation and method-guidance coverage is partial. The epistemic coverage account, memory coverage account and RT-RTE-plan-admission do not fully characterize SRC-1, benchmarks/fire_bench/benchmark/tree_parser.py, benchmarks/fire_bench/benchmark/plan_generator.py and benchmarks/fire_bench/benchmark/reflect_program.md. The newly inspected preparation writers and method-editing doctrine above are not separately recorded routes/claims in the submitted inventories. Withhold exhaustive preparation lineage, global-guidance doctrine and system-complete theory/epistemic-route comparisons. The ordinary tree's plan-admission and retained-state conclusions remain valid; no ordinary consumer of the default enriched instruction or reflector-program file was established by this search.
  • Evaluator and execution-envelope comparisons remain task/path bounded. RT-RTE-score-evaluation, EPI-RTE-gaussian-check, EPI-RTE-reference-check and RT-RTE-search-execution expose unassessed other task tests, utility calls, enroot-helper equivalence and low-level provider checking in SRC-1, benchmarks/autolab/__init__.py, benchmarks/autolab/tasks/, benchmarks/fire_bench/utils/ and benchmarks/fire_bench/eval/RAGChecker/ragchecker/. Withhold exhaustive task-oracle validity, container-path equivalence and downstream model/context inventories. The inspected Docker control path, finite Gaussian check and reference-relative FIRE-Bench route remain supported.
