Verification

The reports support a bounded account of an improvement plane with consequential executable retention, benchmark measurements and optional saved-answer consumption. They do not establish exercised evidence-responsive improvement, dependable execution, causal benefit or adversarial containment. No publication blocker was found. The local defects and inventory limits below remain consequential to reliability and route comparisons.

Evidence and review scope

I read all supplied reports, their types and the records contract completely. The four correction-answer files are empty. The supplied structural check reports none; there is no structural failure to route. I judged the reports afresh rather than treating their validation statements as evidence of support. The checkout HEAD is 59a68f672dfb92c74aeb7e61535d776fb36e172d and its status is clean. Its tracked top-level tree agrees with the boundary coverage. The shipped driver, task callers and evaluation consumers belong to the target; no material shipped host responsibility was reassigned to an external application.

The independent source reads used SRC-1's implementation layer only. Core tracing covered generate_loop.py generation, copy/prune, optional wrappers, outer completion and CLI blocks; utils/gl_utils.py setup, replay, metadata, score and selection functions; meta_agent.py, run_meta_agent.py, task_agent.py, run_task_agent.py; agent/llm.py, agent/llm_withtools.py, agent/base_agent.py, agent/tools/__init__.py, agent/tools/bash.py, and the history/view/output blocks of agent/tools/edit.py; utils/git_utils.py; and the checked-exec and deployment blocks of utils/docker_utils.py. Evaluation tracing covered domains/harness.py, domains/report.py, domains/paper_review/utils.py, utils/domain_utils.py, domains/imo/proof_grading_utils.py, domains/imo/proof_eval.py, the BALROG episode loop and complete summary function, the Genesis reward/training blocks, configuration/checkpoint training and evaluation blocks, its complete summary function, and the Polyglot per-instance implementation. Optional consumers were checked in ensemble.py, select_next_parent.py, utils/run_ensemble.py, utils/run_select_next_parent.py, domains/run_eval.py, and the DGM diagnosis and coding-agent implementations. These reads add no observed-run or causal-experiment evidence to the Source register. No target code was executed.

Runtime and workflow dispositions

All runtime declarations were reviewed: two components, three operative objects, seven routes, two claims and three behavioral-authority paths. There is no evidenced-absence declaration. The components distinguish provider inference from Genesis policy training; local checkpoint loading is not an exact learned-weight pin, and API identifiers do not freeze provider weights. The object findings distinguish executable diff, control metadata and potentially model-readable README guidance.

The progression and status fields of RT-RTE-generation-cycle, RT-RTE-editor-admission and RT-RTE-model-tools match their consumers and enforcement points. In particular, the initial editor ignores the supplied evaluation path and remaining budget in its instruction. Copying files does not directly deliver their contents to a model. The unchanged helper grants callable tools and limits actual tool dispatch, but imports occur before grant filtering. Edited helpers and arbitrary shell effects do not inherit an unconditional capability restriction. The host executes inherited code rather than merely displaying a remembered suggestion; RT-BAP-code-replay preserves that stronger authority.

Independent scoring and selection reads support RT-RTE-task-evaluation, RT-RTE-parent-selection and RT-BAP-selector-flags. Nonempty-diff/import checks admit evaluation, not improvement. Archive append is separate from eligibility. Starting-node exceptions, candidate exhaustion fallback and the non-None meta-patch condition defeat a universal successful-score prerequisite; the CLI supplies an empty list by default. Score discounting and max(agent, ensemble) precede some downstream selections. These qualifications are retained, not relegated to a caveat contradicting a stronger emitted value.

The optional selector and ensemble in RT-RTE-optional-consumers have different decisions, consumers and recovery. The default ensemble reads a saved answer selected using the requested split's score. It does not launch a fresh task-agent inference. The selector wrapper uses a separate latest eligible code source, parses the final stdout line and retries after a veto. Starting-node special cases and cleanup failure still prevent a universal recovery guarantee. The runtime describes bounded retry, not assured eventual success.

The selected workflow follows the same shipped paper-review chain through delivery. I checked each of its four annotations against the parent route and source progression. Staged and full evaluation use the same output paths; existing predictions extend the table instead of universally rerunning rows. Future exceptions can bypass final CSV saving. Local cleanup precedes metadata saving, while outer plotting and selection lie outside the local generation handler. The workflow's normal-return delivery qualification is therefore necessary and supported. Its empty record inventory is appropriate because it adds no new referent.

RT-CLM-recursive-improvement remains a marked dispositional claim: an independent performance objective and live self-change channel are present, but actual evidence-shaped proposal determination and subsequent causal dependence are unobserved. RT-CLM-bash-description and RT-BAP-tool-guidance correctly separate advisory descriptions from enforcement. New Bash sessions and host networking do not support persistent shell variables or implemented network denial.

Memory, epistemic and reconciliation dispositions

I checked all six memory object declarations and all three memory routes, plus the six memory annotations. MEM-OBJ-predictions, MEM-OBJ-report and MEM-OBJ-chat-history have different lineages and consumers. Predictions suppress later calls or become ensemble answers; reports affect selection; raw chat logs are not automatically resumed conversations. The specialized artifact container, reward code and configuration parts remain distinct from numerical checkpoint state. Their broad inventories are explicitly partial where dependencies or detailed transformations remain uninspected.

MEM-RTE-archive-delivery accurately separates automatic filesystem selection from subsequent foreground reads. Normal pruning, unpruned parent-only no-archive copying, and optional full-archive consumers are not interchangeable. MEM-RTE-prediction-reuse identifies the actual keyed/non-NA skip branch without inventing version invalidation. MEM-RTE-dgm-diagnosis has an explicit raw-trace-to-derived-instruction consumer, unlike ordinary afforded archive inspection. Its capped input prefixes, selected JSON fields and malformed recovery call are supported. Neither route is evidence of successful learning or formulated theory criticism.

I reviewed all four epistemic object declarations, four route declarations, inventory rows, ledger functions, claim comparisons and bounded conclusions. EPI-RTE-label-normalization and EPI-RTE-label-scoring support spelling normalization and conditional arithmetic, not source-label truth. The report correctly avoids interpreting the empty-string filter as a proper missing-value filter. EPI-RTE-proof-grading separates external judgments from the fixed points map and notes the empty-input report gap. EPI-RTE-outcome-summary preserves BALROG's expected-count/discovered-task conventions and Genesis's zero-padding and source-native standard-deviation label. These measurements do not license a producing-mechanism explanation, formal proof correctness or transfer. The ledger separates checking, operational disposition and retention; its bounded lack of explanatory lifecycle integration is not a system-complete negative.

Every declared Part of: relation was assessed semantically, not only by matching kinds. The prediction and normalization/scoring parts belong to the tabular evaluation route; archive delivery belongs to generation; specialized outputs, configurations and summary functions belong to domain effects. Cross-kind containment is justified by the production progression. Broad report and chat objects legitimately span routes without claiming one parent. Overlapping memory CSV/report containers and epistemic answer/measurement parts are not equivalent referents. The reconciliation preserves their fields and authority differences; no supersession is needed. It declares no amendments or unresolved conflicts. Its DGM recovery and workflow normal-return dispositions match the source and the submitted wording; they do not conceal incompatible findings. All memory integration issues receive a disposition without promoting evidence strength.

Consequential omission searches and stopping decision

I selected alternatives from the frozen tree and producer/consumer dependencies that could overturn the central account: a shipped non-generation replay caller; a consumer bypassing ordinary archive pruning; trace-derived guidance directly reaching the editor; a numerical-state consumer overlooked by a code-only account; and downstream transfer selection that could invalidate a complete-negative epistemic conclusion. Independent replay, optional wrappers, DGM and Genesis checks resolved the first four as positive routes already retained, with their distinct gates and limits.

For the fifth, I read SRC-1, analysis/transfer_utils.py, and searched archive/score consumers in analysis/plot_progress.py and analysis/visualize_archive.py. Transfer helpers rank retained nodes using absolute scores or descendant-based growth and produce commands for independent replay evaluation. The reports explicitly leave detailed transfer comparisons incomplete; none claims no such consumer, proves generalization or attributes causal benefit. The additional selection detail therefore does not invalidate an emitted conclusion.

genids = choose_node_for_transfer(genid_to_scores, genid_to_parent, method="max_score", top_n=args.top_n) commands = get_run_eval_commands(output_dir, genids, domains) --- analysis/transfer_utils.py

I also searched BALROG environment adapters for context/history producers and read the BabyAI factory. This does not complete environment-context derivation or validate every domain entry. The existing memory domain annotation and epistemic coverage already withhold that completeness and reliable successful operation; the positive evaluator-to-observation/action chain remains supported. A search miss was not treated as evidence of absence.

Further optional expansion stopped because each selected challenge has a supported bounded disposition and no identified material contradiction remains without one. More files could refine domain-specific mechanics, statistical consumers and reliability defects, but the submitted inventories do not assert exhaustive coverage or successful execution. The remaining route-comparison limits below preserve the supported positive mechanisms without disguising unknown behavior as absent.

Limits

  • MEM-RTE-dgm-diagnosis and RT-RTE-editor-admission: SRC-1, baselines/dgm/utils.py omits a required argument in the recursive diagnosis retry. The initial diagnosis-to-editor branch is supported, but readers must withhold dependable retry/recovery and successful diagnosis-driven revision claims. This is a local implementation defect already qualified in both the records and reconciliation, not an unsupported assertion that the branch succeeded.
  • RT-RTE-domain-effects and MEM-OBJ-episode-log: SRC-1, domains/polyglot/harness.py passes an unsupported keyword to the imported logger in utils/docker_utils.py after testing a nonempty patch. The persisted error/reuse paths and intended task/test progression remain inspectable, but successful resolved/unresolved classification on that unchanged branch is not established. Do not infer reliable Polyglot delivery or general solution correctness from the route's implementation status.
  • MEM-OBJ-report, MEM-OBJ-episode-log, RT-RTE-domain-effects and the epistemic coverage: the domain-effect and artifact containers are not complete per-environment provenance or read-back inventories. Detailed environment-context construction, checkpoint internals and downstream statistical/transfer consumers remain incompletely characterized. SRC-1, analysis/transfer_utils.py additionally selects transfer candidates and emits replay commands, rather than establishing actual transfer success. The retained positive execution, scoring, caching and checkpoint-consumption routes stand; readers must withhold exhaustive route comparisons, complete trace provenance and transfer-benefit conclusions.
