Boundary and evidence
This run examines AgeMem as a memory/knowledge/context-engineering system: its model policy selects operations over a long-term memory store and the active conversation context. The intended use is to characterize the declared memory lifecycle, its training procedure, and the limits of the paper's evidence. It does not establish a production runtime's behavior. The target is in scope because memory control is part of the model's action space, not merely a computation returning data to an unrelated caller (SRC-1, Appendix A.1, 2601.01885v1.html#A1.SS1).
Unlike traditional memory systems that rely on external heuristics or predefined schedules, AgeMem integrates these tools directly into the agent’s action space, enabling the model to learn when and how to use each tool through reinforcement learning. ---

The functional boundary includes the declared Add, Update, Delete, Retrieve, Summary and Filter operations; their tool-calling and summarization prompts; and the three-stage procedure that constructs long-term memory, resets short-term context, introduces distractors, and later consumes stored knowledge to answer a task. It also includes the reward design, step-wise GRPO optimization, and the paper's evaluation descriptions and prompts. These responsibilities are described in SRC-1, §§3.1–3.5 and Appendices A and C (2601.01885v1.html#S3, 2601.01885v1.html#A1, 2601.01885v1.html#A3). Their inclusion does not make pseudocode executable implementation evidence.
The boundary kind is complete artifact, partial loop. The complete versioned HTML document is captured, including its appendices, tables and embedded textual figure descriptions. No Git source object was supplied. There is consequently no frozen repository tree or executable entry point to trace. The paper's algorithmic specification connects memory construction, maintenance and later consumption, but does not allow inspection of shipped storage, driver or evaluator code. This prevents a whole-system implementation-coverage claim, confirmation of durable persistence across process restarts, and independent verification that executable callers and tools follow the described loop. Linked images and externally hosted dependencies are not separately captured; visual details absent from the HTML cannot support conclusions.
This appendix provides full technical details omitted from the main text due to space constraints. ---

External dependencies are described, not inspected: Agentscope for agent construction and Trinity for policy optimization; Qwen backbones and Qwen-Max evaluation; semantic text encoding; and the five benchmark environments or datasets. Their implementations and independent operational guarantees are outside this capture. This prevents attributing their host orchestration, storage durability, embedding behavior or evaluation reliability to AgeMem (SRC-1, §4.1 and Appendices A.1, C.1–C.4, 2601.01885v1.html#S4.SS1, 2601.01885v1.html#A3). Other systems discussed in related work and baseline configurations are contextual comparisons only, not additional reviewed targets or sources.
The frozen evidence is the exact-byte HTML capture labelled arxiv-2601.01885v1-html-2026-10-12, with the SHA-256 above. Applicability ends at the run's 2026-10-12 cutoff and is limited to arXiv version v1, dated 05 January 2026 in the captured document. No later paper version, repository revision, live page change or external reference is admitted. The overall evidence tier is doc-grounded. Reported experiments and case examples remain author-attributed evidence, not independently inspected executions or causal experiments.
Initial inspection covered the title and abstract, §§1 and 3, §4.1, Appendix A.1's operations and prompts, Appendix A.3's training overview and Algorithms 1–2, and Appendix C.1–C.4. Remaining portions of the frozen paper are available for later inspection; they are not access gaps or excluded from the documentary target.
